Couch to 5K started first week of the New Year, off into the early evening night, three times per week.

That was then, this morning I completed my longest run of 12k and I think there's more in the tank.

Other than a couple of holidays I've stuck to 3 runs per week, knocking off a couple of 5k and then something longer should I feel up to it, earlier in the week I was running at 6.00am, the coolest part of the day.

Until Couch to 5k I had never really done much running, I really didn't think I could do it, so if you are reading this and thinking that you'll never be able to do it, if I can you can. Two weeks to go and I'm 66 so to be honest I'm pretty much satisfied with where I'm at though pushing for more.

I invested in a decent pair of running shoes about 3 weeks ago having burned out what I thought were a great pair of Nike's. I had a gait analysis done, turns out I'm neutral so I went for a pair of Hoka One One Clifton 6, not cheap but they make a difference to recovery especially my knees and they keep me in a perfect frame when running.

Having got 3 runs in this week totalling 22k and in the hottest week of the year so far I'm pleased as punch.

I'm hooked, thank you Couch to 5k wouldn't have done it without you..keep on running..

Wow Skyeb - that is a fantastic achievement! I’ve been a bit more cautious due to the heat, but had been building to my first 10k. I’d not run before starting this and the thing that’s surprised me is how much I love a long slow run. Furthest I’ve managed is 1:10 but know there’s more in the tank, but I’m not good in the heat so enjoying maintenance running when it’s hot (but taking breaks when it’s realky hot) and a nice long run when it’s cool.

C25K is a blooming miracle!
