Just getting into this but have found after both runs that it’s my shoulders that really hurt, not my legs! I know I’m tensing too much when running but can’t seem to help it! Any practical tips would be gratefully received!

It looks like you are stressed when running, perhaps to concentrate too much running. It is ok, try to run slower, and deep breaths... Run with music soothing music, have done all these things? Or another option is stretching those muscles before your run... Everything helps, if nothing helps may be you need to go to GP? It is meant to slightly enjoy to run.... Or go to a nice place where you can see lovely things whilst running? It may distract you from tensing too much?

Run through a mental checklist before you start. Stand on tiptoe, then lower your heels back down. Imagine a balloon on a string, fastened to the top of your head, keeping you up straight and relaxed. Pull in your core - glutes, abs - and hold for a count of 5. Shoulders back and down. Off you go! Then, just go through that checklist now and again during your run. Maybe, at the start of each run section. Only takes a millisecond each time. I still have to do this, otherwise my shoulders end up around my ears 😂
