Additional strength/stamina training?

Hi everyone - I'm new here.

I'm at W2R1 and I've seen people talking about strength and stamina training that they're doing (especially later on into the programme) - so I'm looking for advice! When do I need to start supplementing my runs with other training? And what kind of things should I do? Thanks in advance!

Welcome... great start.

As soon as possible is the answer. There’s NHS Strength and Flex (which has a forum on here) walking, swimming, yoga, Pilates, anything really as long as it’s not high impact (both feet off the ground at the same time and causing them to then connect with the ground.)

thank you!! I’ll give it a go :)

Now...start now...non impact exercise on some of your rest days is really helpful.:)

As UnfitNoMore has indicated:)

Muscle is one of the things that will keep us fitter and younger for longer so start as soon as you can 😊 there's tons of good workouts on YouTube for different levels of fitness and durations depending on time.

I really like Joe Wicks the body coach for some short hiit workouts that I can do in my lounge.
