Losing motivation 😞 and feeling abit lost

Hi everyone I’m after some help please. Has anyone else struggled with getting motivated after graduating? When I graduated a few weeks ago I was loving running and couldn’t wait to carry on. Then the day after went to see a sports therapist and wasn’t able to run for a week. Since then I’ve run so I didn’t lose momentum even though ankle not 100% but now my other leg is tight from the top right to the bottom making it very uncomfortable to run and not enjoyable. I’m back to see her Thursday so hopefully after then running will feel more comfortable but I’ve gone from doing 30 minute runs up to graduating then only managed 2x 15 mins and 1x 30 mins after. I know any run is better than no run but feel abit disheartened after completing the app. Should I keep trying to run 30 at least or build back up to it again. Feeling abit lost any help much appreciated 😊

I graduated in April and have a ‘dodgy ankle’ and have had all the way through so I’ve been taking it dead easy and often have several rest days between runs until I feel ok to run every other. It’s a mind set though. You did brilliantly to graduate but it will be great to run for pleasure and fitness for life so no problem if you have to take a break. You know you can do it. Take control, mix it up e’g. A short quick one, a longer plod where you go real slow, one with music, one with a podcast. Personally for me monotony kills it for me but knowing I can control when and how much you do keeps me motivated. Don’t be hard on yourself and make sure you are recovered enough to run though. Good luck !

Thank you purplewalker 😊 I think it’s because I’m out of the routine I’ve had for the 9 weeks of the app, feels like I’m failing. These pesky ankles, they’re so annoying aren’t they!

Certainly are! Ice, ice and more ice. After every run without fail- best 10 mins of my day, lying on bed knackered with ice strapped to my dodgy leg, reading my stats and this forum 🤣
