Second run of week 9 tonight, perfect temp for me plus a little drizzle, lovely. Beautiful sea view as always. Why oh why have I found this plus the last one so difficult. I completed both but never really felt comfortable, almost wishing it would end, wanting to stop but didn’t. I’m worried it’s going to put me off. 😬😬

Well done. You’ve been through 26 runs of relentless progression, even when a run is the same as the run before the weekly running is going up. It’s a plan that works, but it’s by no means easy. One more run and the plan is done... then the recommended route is to do some consolidation, so for a couple/few weeks there’s no progression, and it should start to feel easy/comfortable before doing any speed work or further distances. You’ve done great, celebrate after that next run... have a wonderful one.

Thank you UnfitNoMore, when you put it like that - you are right and I’m hoping consolidation will put my fears to rest.

To answer your question , think back to wk1 when you ran for 60 seconds did you find it hard. Now you are running for 30 minutes non stop. So yes I think it may get easier and your body gets more used to it . Good luck 😊

I don't think I found any run easy.

It does get easier as you get more used to doing the distance.

How easy is it for you to run 90s now ? Or 5 minutes ? Now, think back to week 1 and how you found that. Did 90s get easier ? My guess is yes. So running is getting easier, you are making progress it's just a progressive programme so you are being pushed to do more each week

Maybe you're just under the weather or maybe you're anxious about doing week 9. It won't be because you can't do it. Hang on in there, relax and enjoy your achievement.

You've done so well so far, dont be so hard on yourself. I bet if someone said to you 9 weeks ago you would be running 30 minutes you would not have believed them. So in short it does get easier.

That being said there is no rhyme or reason between good and tough runs, however they are all runs.

One thing I know makes a big difference for me is making sure I drink plenty of water the day before a run.

Well done and keep going, slow and steady

Thanks for all your kind words guys. I know I have achieved so much and really look forward to the runs. I just wish I could capture that good run feeling and switch it on every time πŸ˜‚πŸ™ŒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I feel just like you. I did wk9r2 today, found it hard and felt like I’d lost my mojo, couldn’t wait for it to be over. I had a 4 day rest after run 1 as I didn’t really enjoy that either, have been loving it up till now but somethings changed, don’t know. Let’s just hope our graduation run is a good one...good luck

Hi Emsworth19 it’s weird isn’t it. I’m still looking forward to my last one but dreading it at the same time. Maybe it’s the weather, I hate it when it’s too warm. Oh well we will see. Best of luck with yours too πŸ€žπŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I get my kicks after I do it, not one to actually enjoy it or really look forward to it before I start.

Just keep telling yourself to look back in all your achievements and look how far you've come. I bet, like the rest of us, you thought it was unachievable at the start. But you're doing it, so it is!

Keep going and keep praising yourself. You are doing fantastic xo

My final and graduation run was like that, this morning- sunny, sea views along the bay, couldn’t wait for it to end, legs were heavy and hurting!!! But fortunately I have 2 good 30 min runs in the bank so I’m just going to chalk it up. Suggest you do the same. Good luck with your graduation run, Ax
