Back in the game!

Thanks for everyone support and advise, I’ve just braved the rain to get running again after graduation.

Arm with my new running T, as suggested I chose W5R3 and I’m so glad I did as I can see improvement from the first time round and I enjoyed it.

I’m so pleased to say that my foot didn’t cause me any problems. I think it just missed their Brooks after a week apart) After struggling with my foot for years (I broke it over 10 years ago) I thought I would never be able to run but after learning the importance of properly fitting shoes, my Brooks have been incredible and I have had no pain since buying them in week 4!

As for the rain, as someone on here said, you can only get wet once and boy I was soaked.

I cannot recommend my decathlon leggings enough as they just repelled the rain. I am worried my headphones may have got a little wet.

I think I need to find some direction now that I’ve graduated! My local running club is starting a C25k next week and wonder if this might help but then again at £35...

Happy running everyone.

ParkRun is my goal but I need to work on my confidence and distance first.

Parkrun. Just do it. You can go as slow as you like. You will not be the slowest. You will not be the oldest/youngest, fattest/slimmest, palest/darkest, whatever...

But, just like everyone else, you will have fun. Hard fun - the only kind worth the effort.

I’ve been thinking of volunteering. Thought it might help my confidence. x

I take it your title means you are running the streets again, as opposed to walking the streets?

Well done.

Its up to you Emlist, remember c25k is free and you have the support of fellow runners on these forums... posting on the monthly Quest can help you stay motivated and keep you feeling accountable... can you go along to one session of the running group to see if you like it before signing up...

And as suggested there is Parkrun...

Keep posting and happy running! 😊x

Download C25k+ podcast for speed and stamina. Work on your speed and confidence at Parkrun. That's what they're for. Well done for braving the rain. I didn't so I'm off out for a run today.

Where's your nearest Parkrun? Maybe some of us could come and do it with you (if you're not at the other end of the country)?

Are you going to try bridge to 10km? Ju-ju's done a brilliant plan. Download Runkeeper or Strava to keep track if you are. Good luck

Thanks.

I’m in Macclesfield, Cheshire.

I’m going to build myself up to parkRun in the next few weeks.

If I can also sort my diet out I know I’ll get there.

I wish I’d waited until today for my run, enjoy the lovely weather.

Macc was the first Parkrun I ever did! I walked the first 5 mins, then ran my C25k , then ran/walked the rest. I'll happily run it with you one day, or you could join up with a group of us at Marple.

Macc is down for Dec 2020 on Pianism 's tourist Parkruns for this area, but that is ages away.

Let me know if you fancy company for Parkrun and we'll organise something 👍

That would be lovely. I’ll bet marple is a lovely route and I hear good things about Bramhall too.

I think I’ve just found my summer challenge.
