After jumping 0.9K from W9R3 to 5K this week without too much trouble (in my first run, a very unexpected thing), my next run felt so much harder. I ran much later in the day, it was warmer, and I was running with my partner, and so talking.
The mental training done over C25K helped though, and I just kept going, and once I got to my mental half way (an old real half-way from earlier runs), and physically started run back to the end of the run, it got easier.
I’ve got a 5K trail run booked this weekend, so ran up a large mound during this run, which just added to the pain!
I’m going to do some cardio (stepping machine) today, and cross trainer tomorrow. My partner thinks I should rest more. Thoughts?
Thanks.

I always rest the day before an event even if it is a distance I am comfortable with. You tend to have a little extra push on your pace for events and you need your muscles to be nice and refreshed for this, it will help to give you that boost. I did a big gym session for legs on Wednesday and boy did I feel that on my run today and that was just a gentle one. Have a great event. Rfc x
