Welcome to the forum.

Are you going to conquer your mental block? Are going to do C25K?

If so this guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and explains that your jogging pace does not have to be faster than your brisk walk.

C25K is about building stamina and endurance, speed doesn't come into it.

Enjoy your journey.

Hi, I spent about four weeks letting my mind convince me I was too heavy before I started this and now I have just finished week 2. My jogging pace is not much quicker than my walk and I am letting my body guide me as to whether I am overdoing it and so far all is good and I have been really surprised with my progress. I hope you can get over it soon and good luck.

"You dont know what you are capable of until you try it." If you are uncomfortable jogging, maybe you should start with long walks. Once you feel at ease, you can upgrade to jogging. Give it a try and it will all be OK.

If it's only a mental block and no physical / medical concerns, try the C25K. What is that mental block? Can you go into details please.

If you are unsure, consult a professional.

try running for 20 seconds - or 10s - or 5s - it doesn't matter how long it takes you to do week one, if at first you don't succeed, try again, everyone on this forum started Couch to 5K because they weren't experienced runners, and I found this forum just a couple of weeks ago and everyone is really supportive - you can share your successes and ask questions and they will all support you

There’s no need to your slow jog to be faster than brisk walk... it’s possible to play in the overlap of pace between the two! You can do this... keep that pace comfortable and conversational. Your username is actually great... run in comfort, forget speed (at least for a while). Enjoy your journey

I'm a slow runner, kind of at a brisk walking speed. I am concentrating on doing the distance without a stop. I figure I can work on speed later. I still feel that I am achieving. Good luck
