I never thought this day would come!

I finally graduated!!!!! This has been one hell of a journey and at times I wasn’t sure I would make it. I started in the dark and cold day of December and have finished on a glorious sunny evening in May.

Over that time I have lost two stone in weight and have proved to myself that I can beat the negativity gremlins. I am not sure that I will ever love running but I hope that I will keep going. My work colleagues are going to join me doing a charity 5K so that should motivate me!

To anyone who is just starting or has hit a wall (like I did many times), my advice is to stick with it, it is so worth it in the end. Also so grateful for the wonderful Michael Johnson for motivating me throughout.

Many congratulations on your graduation fellow runner.

This guide to post C25K running may be helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Next run, go somewhere beautiful and inspiring and run nice and gently, just for fun, taking in your environment and relishing your newly won ability to run.............if you don't enjoy that and fall in love with the sensation........... I'll be lost for words.

Slow is fun.

Keep running, keep smiling.

That is great advice, thank you! I am looking forward to just going out and running, maybe walking for a bit too. Definitely loving the beautiful balmy evenings!

It is literally brilliant isn’t it. I still can’t believe I can run 5k !! It’s very clever how the app builds you up and fabulous that it’s there for our free use and benefit too.

Enjoy your graduation , you’ve earned it!!

Thank you, the best thing is the silence from the negativity gremlins. They fought a hard battle but I beat them in the end 🤣

I am looking forward to trying new things as Ian suggested above. I have just been running around the village I live in, next step is to brave the outside world!

Congratulations Blammo, you must feel great - 2 stone lost and you can run 30 minutes! Both are worth celebrating. The love of running can take a while, but the love of completing it is enough to keep you going.

🏃‍♀️🎓☀️👏👏👏🍾🥂

Defo keep going! I had to have more rest days in between (hence why it took so long) but the sense of achievement on completing each run was huge. Slow and steady is the way.
