Week 2 breathing and stitch issue.

So w2r1 is over and I feel so good about this. I did have a bit of a delay between week 1 and 2 but now have a plan to complete every run on time every week. Only thing is I'm struggling a but with my breathing consistency. I have asthma and smoked for years so was always going to be an issue but any tips on how to make it easier would be greatly appreciated. And stitch just kicked in slightly at the end so need to try combat that if possible. Thanks gang.

SLOW DOWN !!!!!!!!!

If you can't breathe, you are going too fast, asthma or no asthma.

The recommended pace for C25K is one at which you can speak clear ungasping sentences as you run, as explained in the guide to the plan.

It will probably sort your stitch too.

Thanks for your advice. I slowed down today and it was much better. Still get short of breathe but it was easier to control.

Slow down more.......and more again, if you need to.

Plenty of water the day before 👍🏽

Breathing sorts itself out once you get through 5-8 minute runs 👌🏽

Yup ^^^ what he said. He's not wrong and poor breathing is usually the culprit of stitches...

Ease up on yourself. No need to make it a punishment 😉👍

Yea the breathing is the main thing I think and as I eased up a little today the stitch was mild. Need to take on more water though

Even if you think your going slow go even slower that will sort your breathing and the stitch 😊

Thanks for the tip. Feel like I want to go quick but your right. The slower the easier. Slow Jog is enough at the moment

A useful tip I was given for stitch:

After you have slowed down your pace. .. breathe out sharply with a breathy hah! sound a few times. I had quite a few weeks with stitch bother & that really helped me - I also startled a few dog walkers too! 😂
