Thatโ€™s a wrap, I have completed W4R3 this morning and I am totally pumped to move onto W5! W5 is a major shift from previous weeks, a little bit nervous ofcourse but there is so much to look forward to:

โญ•๏ธ Each run in W5 is different.

โญ•๏ธ There is less stopping and starting.

โญ•๏ธ A solid run of 20 minutes.

How have other people felt about W5, is this where it all changed for you?

Congratulations on completing week 4 of C25K, onwards and upwards to week 5.

Week 5 run 3 is a milestone run with C25K, it is the run that makes you a runner, it does scare a few people but if you trust the program like you have so far you should find that run very well. Just take it especially slow and steady, by the way just by coincidence I'm running that one tomorrow morning as I have been rerunning much of the runs of C25K as revision to mark a year since I joined the course.

I am trusting the programme. Happy c25k anniversary to you. I can see Iโ€™m going to keep this journey with me a long time!

I still think week 4 was the pivotal week for me, I thought that was a massive jump from week 3. After that week, I knew I could do it. But, there's absolutely no doubt that 20 minute run will put a massive smile on your face! ๐Ÿ˜Good luck. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Is it weird that Iโ€™m really looking forward to it! Haha I hope that doesnโ€™t come and bite me ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Hmmm I've been dragging my feet a little, not looking forward to week 5, still to do W4R3, tonight or tomorrow. I know I can do it, trust in the program completely but .......its seems like such a big jump. ๐Ÿ™„

Xylo I didnโ€™t want to move from W4 either, but Iโ€™m really motivated by the fewer stop start stop start! W5 will really test me and I have a good running app to get my stats per km.

Im interested to know which running app you use ?

JaoJao profile image
JaoJao in reply to Xylo

Ah yes sure, I use Runtastic app. I notice most people on here tend to use Strave, Map my run. Runtastic has worked for me since the start so I will stick with what I know.

Wk4 was a game.changer for me. Did w5 r1 yesterday with a completely different mindset, mainly based on the fact that you are actually running a minute less than in w4

Ah yes there is that! It certainly shakes things up a bit when you get 3 different runs in W5.

I saw from one of your posts that were thinking about incorporating a run during a park run. Did you do it? It's what I plan to do for my next run, which is today!!! Eek I need to get to bed ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

No I have not done it yet with a park run, i bottled it. I saw some of the scores from my local one and thought itโ€™s probably best if I start the park runs when I am on solid runs and past the interval running.

Good luck let us know how it goes for you .

I did it. Ran w5r2 without stopping which took me just over halfway and completed it by doing w1 intervals which got me home. I feel great. Started with the 5 min warm up from the start. Resisted the need to run as I was being left behind which was the right decision as I caught back up and overtook some in my first 8 min run. Yes it was hard but then I felt strong at the end and almost like a proper runner as I sprinted (sort of) over the line to come in 467th

Ooooh well done! I've just got out the shower from week 4 run 3 and am so nervous about week 5 next week, eeeek! It just seems a huge step up from week 4, but then I thought that about week 3 to week 4 ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚ Let's smash this ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช

JaoJao in reply to Need_hot_coffee

Letโ€™s smash this indeed! When do you plan to run your W5R1, maybe we can sync! Itโ€™s great when you know someone else is doing the same run you can bounce off xx

Monday 5.30, as soon as hubby steps in the door and kids are already eating. If I don't go then I know I won't go out ๐Ÿ˜‚ What time do you normally go? We can suffer together ๐Ÿ˜‚

Ah you have a good structure there. My run times are a mix of early mornings or straight after work. I am going to do my W5R1 on Sunday or Monday, not decided yet. Will keep you posted ๐Ÿ˜Š Iโ€™ll be following your journey! Yay for us!

I felt very apprehensive about this run but actually I was amazed by how well it went. And the sense of euphoria afterwards is fantastic. It was the run for for me when I really felt the build up from all the previous weeks paid off.
