Struggling with Week 3

YellowBlackBumblebee profile image

Did anyone else struggle with week 3? I’ve done run 1 and 2 but don’t think I’ve run the full three minutes once! Is it best to stay on week 3, do you think?

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on the recommended easy conversational pace, which makes it all possible.

If you don't fully complete a workout, have a rest day then repeat, maybe even slower. There is no point moving on if you haven't completed.

Enjoy your journey.

Yes maybe start wk3 again and don't move on from a run until you complete it you can do it 😊😊

I had to do W3 three times before I could move but on Sunday I ran for 20mins. Not everyone gets to 30mins of running in a straight line. But the programme does work! Have faith.

Well done you... take the advice from IannodaTruffe ... and keep it really slow and really steady. Try to relax and just know you will get through these runs... Each run, each week will make you stronger:)

hello yellowblackbumblebee, I have just finished week 3 this morning and found it hard. However like is often suggested on here , today I really slowed the pace of running down and think this helped felt good to finish it too. Do not be put off, you will do it, even if you have to repeat the run another day just take your time. Its a learning curve for most of us, good luck

You can repeat a week until you feel you're ready to move on. Also remember to take at least 1 non running day in-between. I find I need 2 days between the 2nd and 3rd run. Finally go slow, it's about time, not distance. So it's more important to keep going than the get a long way down the road 😀
