Wk7 Run3 (second time)

Just completed the 25 minute run. Week 7 has taken me about 2 weeks, as I just haven't been able to run for 25 mins.Last time out I could only manage 13 mins, so I repeated it today. I'm pleased to say I managed it, but I'm worried that I might have reached my limit, the thought of running further and for longer is putting me off.

Do people have a limit? Maybe I should stick to 10 mis run, walk a bit, run for 10 mins etc, I'm sure this would help me to get fitter too.

You can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to until you are satisfied that you can continue on to the next run or week, you maybe running too fast or are not hydrated enough.

By running run 3 of week 7 twice you have ran 5/25 minute runs, run 3 of week 6 is the first and the three runs of week 7 are all 25 minutes as well, hence 5 times, although you say you took a short walking break.

Onwards and upwards to week 8 which are 3/28 minute runs, but only when you are ready to do so and run them slower than you have been running recently, hopefully you won't need to stop for a short walking break, also do some stretching before and after the run.

Thanks Almor, I'll keep trying, but feel like my body's had enough and can't run for longer. Also I couldn't run any slower than I'm already running, believe me!

I'm at the same stage in this process. Repeat week 7 until you are comfortable to move on. You can do this. Believe in yourself.

Thank you, it's getting to the stage where it's hard to keep going.

First of all, we’ll done for completing the 25 minutes this time around, that’s fantastic!

I’m at the same point myself and have the 25 min run tomorrow.

I don’t think you do have a limit, just what you’re capable of at any given time. 5 weeks ago I would have said 10 minutes was my “limit”, but I ran 20 last week and I’m pretty sure I can do the 25 tomorrow.

What’s important is that you are improving and you should be very pleased with yourself for what you’ve achieved already.

Good luck and keep going, you’re doing great 👍

Thank you so much Country runner, you're right, you get past each hurdle that seems impossible, but I am finding it really hard now. I'll keep trying, but I'm not looking forward to the runs anymore.

Yes, we all have limits... and from all the articles I’ve read in the subject we hit that somewhere between 2 and 7 years of running, and then can maintain it for a few years. So... you’ve been doing this a couple of months... plenty of development still to come!

Set off on each run a little slower than normal keep the pace down for 10 minutes or so... you should at some point naturally increase in pace with no extra effort, then the energy you saved at the start is available to go that little bit longer that week 8 demands. You can do it. Look where you were on day one... now you can sustain a run 25 times longer... that’s pretty cool... and your total running time has tripled... that’s amazing no?

Don’t worry about a run... relax, manage the pace... shock yourself with how awesome you really are.

Mine too... I had 400m sprint intervals today... 10 of them... my legs hate me, but I’m so proud of pushing my limits and making them ache!

Oh my goodness, you're tough. Well done, don't think I could ever do that!

I couldn’t last year... impossible is only temporary. When we start W1R1 the 25 minutes you’re running is impossible... only now you’ve done it 4 times. I’m no different to you, no tougher, I’m just further down that road right now. C25K is amazing, but it’s just the plan that allows you to see how awesome you are.
