Oh no it’s sleet and snow

Well the title says it all. Got all my gear on, Laura in my ears and opened the front door ready to do Run 2 week 4. Well the faithful spaniel took one step outside and ran back in again! Sleet and hail coming down, not very nice at all. Started off on the brisk 5 minute walk and was soaked by the time I got to the end of our lane. I decided that the brisk walk would be it this morning and faithful friend just turned around to get back to the front door! Hopefully I will try again this afternoon or failing that tomorrow morning. It’s the first time the weather has put me off and it was grim honest it was !Big applause to those who run in weather like that, and I do feel annoyed with myself. However better to try later than not to even do it at all. I will be back on track as I really want to start week 5 on Monday.

You’ll get back on track. Sometimes not all things are possible.

That was a sensible decision you made 'Myzinnyboy' you and your faithful spaniel dog were correct in turning back as the weather was nasty, if nothing else if you had kept on running you could end up with a nasty cold.

Where I am in Central Scotland at the moment it is snowing lightly but not lying. Yesterday afternoon I cut the grass for the first time this year, within two hours there was a heavy hail shower and the grass that I had cut was all white with hail Good luck to you for run 2 of week 4 once the weather improves.

Haha, I'm in Scotland too, couldn't believe the hail yesterday. It just seemed to come from nowhere. Only place you can get all four seasons in one afternoon :)

very sensible! Dogs are wise so if spaniel said no then you did the right thing :) Hope the weather clears through and you get to do your run later today x

I’m the same. All set to do my run and then saw the weather. I’m not going to run in the snow! Too cold and a bit scared of slipping too. Loving British Summer Time!!

It’s just really wet in Aberdeenshire. Hoping it backs off later so I can get out without needing flippers and snorkel 😄

I was exactly the same (minus spaniel!). I’ll reattempt tomorrow! :)

How are you getting on with the hills! I went up my hill on Monday, it’s still hard, but it’s getting a bit better easier.

I ran up the hill last week and nearly cried that I had achieved it - and it wasn’t too bad! 😅😅 thank you for remembering!

Also that song by Kate Bush, the line that goes running up that hill with no problem goes in my head regardless of what the earphones say!
