This was one of those Not a Good Run runs... My debut after an eight day sabbatical on account of a chest infection. As bad runs are usually a result of a combination of factors, I’ve reflected: yesterday I went to a birthday event with a friend... so the pre-run evening was fuelled by 20,000 steps yomping round London; hydrated mostly by wine... and nourished mostly by small nibbles. Lesson learnt 😉. Never mind... back to sensible business this week. Meanwhile, look at the avenue of blossom that greeted me at the finish line today! 🌸😍🌸
Week 8 run 3 done... finally. : This was one of... - Couch to 5K

it cant be counted as a bad run if you ended up there. its absolutely stunning
I know!! There are 111 flowering cherry trees there apparently! Last weekend when I ran, they were still bare twigs... so today was an absolute joy - and complete surprise 😃
111! is it giving away any state secrets if you say where this is?
No! Not all!! They’re at Bedgebury Pinetum in Kent. I’ve just googled the trees’ heritage - they were gifted to the UK by a visiting Japanese martial arts organisation in 2013!! Well worth a visit if you’re located anywhere nearby x
Good effort K after a break, that’s a tough run to come back to 👍! However I must take issue with your total lack of professionalism in your prep for the run 🙄! Water is the recommended hydrating liquid, not several flagons of wine 🤦♂️! Could just be I’m jealous tho 😜😂
Doh! Thanks for the insider info...<now> I know where I’ve been going wrong... (If I said it was flutes of fizz, rather than flagons of wine, would that make it more professional?! 😂)
That’s gorgeous ! Welcome back x
Gorgeous blossom tree but wine and nibbles take preference to running surely ! 🏃♀️🍷 Onwards and upwards !
Gorgeous photo! Can’t say I’m shocked it was a great run after reading your description of the night before 😂😂. But you got through it so well done!
