Starting over

Yes I am. The events of this last month or so have flattened me out and I don’t know where I am. So today I went back to my old pal Sanjeev, who knows all about the Black Dog from his own experience, and we did 1:1 together. The sun is shining, the celandines are out on Baddie’s Incline, and I’m back. Back at the beginning, but still back, and relieved to be here. The photo shows Spring on the IannodaTruffe Perimeter. Have fun out there, everyone x

Sounds like a good decision to me, and you’re gonna enjoy it even more this time round knowing that you can do this. The most important thing is to be out there and doing it, increasing that health and fitness with each and every run. Happy running.

Thanks UNM. I realised today that the UNM Hill actually has a second, smaller one next to it (always wondered why I got so out of breath on that bit !) so I’ve paired them as the UNM Range. Not quite the Himalayas, but quite enough for today 😁

I may get used to my name and “hill” sitting next to each other one day 😂

Easier sitting than running 😂

Good plan - when you're feeling down you need to take the pressure off yourself, and what better way than to run with Sanjeev's lovely voice in your ear.

Enjoy!

What a beautiful day it is for it too! Glad to see you’re back out there n that sounds like a sensible decision. Does that mean you get a second graduation? 🤔😃xx

Glad you enjoyed run 1.1 with your pal Sanjeev, I have Laura as my coach.

As I have told you I go long walks and during them I go for a short run, usually 1.2 of C25K just to make sure my legs are in running order.

My plan for April will be 1.3 to 9.3 for my runiversary on 18th April. Just enjoy your runs second time round and kick the Black Dog into a ditch, lovely photo of IannodaTruffe Perimeter. 😊 🏃

Glad you are out there BCK having a bit of you time even if the black dog insists on joining you. To be back on the plan gives you a structure which may help your motivation. 😘

Hoping so, Bodg. With the best will in the world, I’ve really struggled since graduation, but I really want to hang on to my new good habits 😄

Well done on getting back out that's the first hurdle out of the way! And you know you can do it x

Well, I’ve already staggered through it once ! Nice to do it with fewer repeats this time (I hope !) 😄

I think it's a great idea as it's such a clearly structured plan. Plus you know you can do it and anything that you do is a bonus for your wellbeing. x

That looks like a beautiful place to run! My runs are in a place that’s flatter than a flat thing so I’m impressed with your hill running! Good luck with your re-Run of C25K!

ButtercupKid profile image
ButtercupKidGraduate in reply to Oldgirlruns

It’s not really much of a hill, just a few feet really 😄 The thing is, it has rather a skiddy surface and just after I’d started on here UnfitNoMore was injured in scree on a proper hill, so I called what is really more of a pimple the UNM Hill to remind me to take care. Working so far ! My very long term goal is the local 10k hill climb, so I will do some proper climbs eventually 😀

A great plan! A highly structured approach sounds like exactly what you need to keep you getting out of the door and achieving again. Enjoy it in better weather this time around (although a bit warm!)

ButtercupKid profile image

I know ! Too hot for me already - I kept picking the paths under the trees so I could stay in the shade and not be distracted by Ethel’s hideous shadow wobbling along 😂

That looks soooooo inviting. Sorry you've been running with the black dog... mine's off bothering other parts of my life at the moment and leaving my running alone, thank goodness. Hope things ease a little and that you enjoy getting back to running. :)

Do you know, you have inspired me to start again. I have had a few illnesses and missed several months now. I couldn't decide where to start back but I think it may as well be the beginning again. I enjoyed doing it so let's start again x thank you
