Inner knee and upper calf pain

Oh, no. I completed the w6r2 and had a bit a pain, but decided to go ahead and complete w6r3. I had a bit of pain while running but felt okay after finishing. However, later the pain increased quite a bit. I couldn't sleep because of it. The next day I wore a knee brace and that seemed to help. It's three days since the run and I still have some pain. Question is - should I wait until the pain disappears before getting back on track with c25k? Any advice is much appreciated.

I had inner right knee pain and continued running wearing knee support for a week . The pain has now gone and no longer where the support. It is up to you though how you proceed 😊

If it’s actual pain rather than an ache then you shouldn’t run again until it subsides. Pain indicates a problem n if you continue running then it may become a bigger problem n put you out for some time. Best to rest it for a few days now n wait till it’s better than risk being on the injury couch for weeks

Don't run in pain.

The guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... has links to the NHS Sports injuries page as well as stretches and advice on minimising impact.

Take care.

Thanks for the link. I’m afraid I might have been jogging too quickly, even though it seemed barely faster than I can walk, and I think I heal strike. Something to work on once the pain subsides.

I ran in knee braces for some extra support coming back from injury, but by then the pain had reduced considerably, and I wouldn’t do it long term. The strengthening exercises really helped me a lot and I am now running pain free. I do always err on the side of caution... making an injury worse means longer out.

I will find those exercises and strengthen my legs. Thanks,
