I have been thinking what happens after graduation day (when I get there). How can I stay motivated as this forum has helped me so much on every run and then I was told about this.

RUNR - Miles for Mind is a virtual running campaign which is being held from 1st - 31st May 2019.

To bring people together to raise awareness for mental health through running. Mental Health Awareness week is 13th - 19th May, 2019.

How it works you choose your running distance for the month (25 miles, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150 or 200 miles) then pay £13.95 of which 100% percent of the money is donated to the wonderful charity MIND.

runr.co.uk/products/2019-mi...

You can also set up a fundraising page on JUSTGIVING site if you wish to help raise even more money.

At the end of the month sum up your runs by either your apps/Garmin etc and send it off via email to RUNR and they will send you a specially designed medal 🏅

They will be using Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to motivate others by using #runr #milesformind

I have opted for 25 miles and hope some of you join me in supporting such a great cause 🏃‍♀️🏅🏃‍♂️

That’s a fantastic idea! Sadly I’m only covering about 20 miles a month at the moment but once I’m covering more distance I may well give this a go 😊

Just thought some runners would like to give it a go but understand we are all at different stages....I’m about 2.4 miles a run so I’ve worked it out that three times a week I should do it. If my maths is correct...I’m no Carol Vorderman 🤔

You should easily do it then. If I’m covering enough distance by the time May comes around I’ll definitely join in, it’s a great cause and close to my heart 🏃‍♀️

Incentive though? You’re only just over a mile a week short - spread over 4 weeks it’s doable?

I totally get where you’re coming from but I don’t want to push myself too much n risk an injury. I’m normally only covering 1.7 miles ish per run. But I’ve time to increase that without putting any pressure on myself before the May start date n if I increase my distance enough I will give it a go

Fair point - main thing is you’re getting out there - always next year 🤗

Very true! Kinda hoping I can do it this year now though lol, I’ve got 7 weeks before it starts to up my distance n I’m only one run away from no more intervals now 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

That’s a great idea. I signed up for a virtual run the year to keep me ticking over: I signed up for 200 miles for the year and so far managing 25 miles per month. I am raising for charity and it’s really helping me keep focused. Good luck with your running 👍

Well done Molly that’s a great idea...200 miles in the year is really impressive 🏅 I thought I would start off small as I haven’t graduated yet. Makes you feel so good doing something for charity and giving something back. Good luck to you too 🏃‍♀️

Thank you. It’s only a little over 20miles/month so not bad really. There are some who do 1000 miles! I graduated at New Year so it was a good time to start something like that.

Fantastic idea, I haven’t done anything to get some bling yet, think this may well be a fab way to start.
