Week 4 - going well so far πŸ˜€

Not a big fan of exercise - tend to go through phases of going swimming or to the gym then after month or two I stop. A friend mentioned the c25k and at first I wasn't sure it was for me, never been keen on running ever since high school when we were made to do cross country. However, I started the c25k as it was free and I was intrigued to know what I could do/ how far I could get. I am on week 4 and it's going very well. If you asked me 4 weeks ago to run for 5minutes straight I would of laughed and said no I can't BUT actually I can. I just hope that I can keep going and reach the end of this programme as I am currently enjoying it and it is definitely giving me more confidence.

You will definitely amaze yourself at how much you can achieve. This program was the first real exercise I had ever done after losing motivation for the gym (also helped that running is free😁)

I felt exactly the same the day I ran my first five minutes. It was tough but I did it and after that I truly believed anything was possible. It’s given me so much confidence seeing my progress and improvements each week. It’s the type of thing that you can only improve on, never fail. Setbacks are just learning curves, something to improve on and overcome. I have truly grown to enjoy running to the point I look forward to it, and I’m sure you will too if you can just keep at it. Keep smiling, keep running πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Well done. The programme is great and just strengthens you at the right times so that you CAN do it. You'll be so chuffed when you graduate ...and do try and keep going once you do. You have achieved so much already.

Thanks, I am feeling a lot more motivated and determined to complete the challenge and hopefully continue regularly running 🀞 πŸ˜€

I'm having a strange experience with it all. On Monday when I started W4R1, I didn't know what to expect as I hadn't looked up the timings. So 5 minutes was a bit of a shock but I managed to do the whole thing.

Then last night when I got in bed, I was worrying about today's session and had a restless night sleep. Because I knew what was coming up, the gremlins were trying to convince me I was going to fail. However, I did complete W4R2. I can't say it was any better/worse than W4R1. I was still knackered at the end. Hopefully W4R3, I will feel much more positive now I've done it twice already.

Yes, it's a bit of a big jump from 3 minutes in W3 to 5 minutes. I managed the first run of W4 quite well and was shocked at myself. However, today I have done the second run on W4 and I found it a lot more hard going. I do think that starting off slowly and then building up to a faster pace helps slightly. I have started to focus on something in the distance when I'm starting to tire and this helps me keep focused.

If you are have trouble with the longer distances it is better to start off slow .....and keep it that way😊🐌🐌
