First parkrun in 2 years!

I am nearly finished with Week 3 of C25K and this weekend I am planning to do my first parkrun in over 2 years. I have only ever done a parkrun once before so I am feeling pretty nervous! Last time I did it with almost no training whatsoever so it was pretty slow going and I'm not expecting much more this time to be honest as I'm still in the early days of C25K, although I am surprised at how comfortable I am finding week 3 so far. Week 4 however looks like it will be a different story!! I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance to calm my nerves for parkrun this weekend! :)

Enjoy. When you do the Parkrun do it via the C25k plan. Walk for 5 mins, do the intervals and walk the rest of it to the finish line. Don’t be tempted to do too much too soon. Stick to the plan. Oh and enjoy it.

Wk4 will be ok the runs you've done are practice so you can move on , good luck with your park run and remember to do the walking parts in between in case you get carried away 😊😊

As damienair says, just do your C25K programmed workout and walk the rest. That is our official advice.

You may be able to do more, but why take the risk of doing too much too soon.

You can register your club as NHS C25K, if you wish.

Thank you, yes I definitely don't want to do too much too soon. I have learnt that lesson the hard way. I will take it easy and walk as much as I have to. Thanks for the info about registering the club too, I didn't know I could do that!

Well I did it! I did the parkrun in 38.48 which is nearly 3 minutes faster than the one I did 2.5 years ago without any training at all, so I'm happy with that! My ultimate goal will be to do it without any walking but that is a way off yet!
