I started C25K in September. I've consolidated my 30 minutes runs and I've been changing up my programme since Xmas and I've been doing a speedy 3k

I've been getting a little bored even though I've changed up my routes.

I struggle with longer times and distances and I was wondering if you have any tips on how to keep focused and not getting bored.

I'm also feel sore when I wake up in the middle of the night even though I have a good stretch after every run. Any tips.

Maybe at 47 I'm just getting older

Any tips would be helpful

Have you entered in any events? Park run or the like? If not, I think that would be a huge motivator - and it's lots of fun, the crowd atmosphere along with your own sense of "giving it a go and see how I do" is amazing :)

Wishing you many happy miles in your future :)

Yes I've done it a few times. My local one is called hillyfields and it is as the name suggests. I really struggled the last one and stopped.

I Wii be going to different one in a couple of weeks and keep doing what I'm doing in the mean time.

Thank you though.

Hills... I didn't even attempt them until about a year after graduation. I think you are a more dedicated runner than you might realise!

Well done on that Park Run! 👍

hi, sorry no advice really. As Irish-John says park run is great... I know you've tried your local one but remember you don't have to run it all and can walk too, and just try to enjoy it

Maybe try listening to different music/podcasts/audio books. Different routes ( I know you have tried) and make mental notes of your surroundings, take photos

could you go out with someone else? join a club?

The app zombie run is quite amusing!

Ju-Jus 10K plan is great on the bridge to 10k page

good luck and keep us posted

Hi Lexus, I was going to suggest Zombies!run too!

Also, slow down a bit maybe, if you make it too hard for youself it will sap your energy and take the joy out of your running. Better a slower 5k say, and a satisfied feeling than a fast 3k that wore you out....😧

Head over to the Bridge to 10k site, join the Quest. Write run reports and get back in the zone!😊xx

Do you include heel drops and toe lifts in your stretches.

Maybe it’s time to follow a plan again? Try some speed intervals. After some of them a long run is bliss 😂
