Achilles tendonitis

Hi fellow C25Kers. I'm on week 3 and have achilles tendonitis issues that are keeping me awake at night. On doing some reading on it (and this seems to be an issue that affects long distant runners! Not me surely! ) it may be that I'm not stretching after the runs (I thought the cool down walk was all you had to do) so that may solve the problem. But are there any other tips out there for me please? Thanks in advance.

Stretches are really going to help... and some strengthening work to follow... I did a few toe drops and walking on top toes after my injury healed and the bruising had dies down. Hope it heals nice and fast for you.

I have had Achilles problems in the past and I would say stretch after every run. There is a link in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

I hold each of those post run stretches for 30 seconds. Rest up for a while, you really don't want to exacerbate the strain.
