Yes ButtercupKid I sensed that something was up, the day that you were supposed to run, run 3 of week 6 there was a storm in your area and I knew quite rightly that you would have to miss that run, however, with the weather improving and no word about run 3 I got a bit worried about you. I hope you are OK and will resume your runs soon, perhaps a repeat of runs 1 and 2 of week 6 before running the full 25 minutes of run 3.

You were right about the storm, AlMorr - another few trees down around my usual track, and I was almost blown over myself bringing the shopping in, so no run. Then the lurgy came up as the wind went down ! Making good progress though - I hope to be back on the trail next week. Good advice about the repeats: I’ll see what shape I’m in when I’m ready. Hope it’s going well with your own running x

Nice to hear from you BCK, I have had a bit of a hoarsy throat for the last few days, hasn't stopped me from going for short runs and long walks, just a bit annoying, in fact I lost my voice completely for about 12 hours from 8pm Tuesday to 8am Wednesday, if the phone had rung in that time I could not have answered it or whispered, 'whose calling', voice back now and only slightly hoarsy. However the big new is that I got a email from the council inviting me to join a walking club, which I did yesterday morning, very nice people there, one of them mentioned C25K but told me that he only got to week 3 and gave up, he congratulated me when I told him I graduated from C25K last June. 😊

Sorry to hear about that throat issue - hope it’s all cleared up now. Walking group sounds like a good way to get out and about and meet people. Maybe you’ll have inspired that man to have another go at C25k 😀

Take care of yourself. You'll be back before you know it, ready to smash the next run!

Thanks SAcat. How’s it going for you ?

I’m battling a bit of a bug myself but decongestants and throat losenges are keeping me going so far. Hoping to get out for a couple of runs over the next few days 🤞. It’s been a little hard getting back into routine after holidays.

My husband uses this; i’ve tried in the past but can’t get past my gag reflex to do it properly 🤢. Cold meds and losenges for me

Yum! Tangerines, closest I got to those here at Christmas in NZ is Terry’s Chocolate Orange. Sssssssh, have got one hidden in back of pantry, grandaughter, can sniff em out far too easily. 😅

2 mile runs now... so not back at 5k but really enjoying the runs. February will be the return of some speed intervals and all that stuff that hurts but makes me grin after... and then I have to go bag that 10k!

I don’t know how me & my family have managed to avoid this lurgy completely: tempting fate I know. It seems to have been really nasty. Make sure you are fully well before running again xx

Oh, poor you. I hope you get better soon. I started on Monday with swollen tonsils, and now it's like uncontrolled coughing and my chest muscles feel like 6 weeks after I broke my ribs. I succumbed to Strepsils at the motorway services on the way home tonight. I did not run mid-week this week. Feet feel a bit sore from last weekend's overindulgence in walking and running. Ready to start bridge210k in the morning though. LOL

All the best with that. Take it gently while you’re feeling bad. So looking forward to getting back once the aches subside !
