Good luck! I just downloaded the app and am going on my first run tomorrow. It’s a bit scary isn’t it!

It is but I am glad I found this app, hopefully it will be very helpful. I’ve been so unfit for too long and I need to change this quick lol good luck I’ll keep an eye on your progress.

Good luck! To you and to branders1974.

I graduated from C25k in Nov2018 and can already (but slowly) run a 10k 😸

I used the One U app and thought it was brilliant.

FYI - I did week 1 three times before proceeding with the programme but it is designed to take you from zero to hero without repeating runs.

Best advice / trick is to jog at a speed that's just a bit above your fast walk speed.

Keep posting as you progress and have fun!

😸 Katnap 😸

I'm an ex-smoker too. Giving up was difficult. The cravings become less but take a few years to go. But weirdly, I found coming off 2x sugars in tea harder than giving up cigs!

You'll be great!

While I remember, you don't need much in the way of kit but after week 3 if you haven't already, get some running shoes / trainers you should be at least looking for some end of season deals.

Yes definitely I’ll have a look for a pair, I’m quite lucking really where I live as there are loads of country lanes and roads to do the runs on.

Hello and greetings from a broken record. You either what to change or you do not want to change, it’s that incredibly simple. Go and do it! Or don’t do it......

Good luck with this, it is definitely do-able if you just trust the programme. Maybe having five lovely kids could be an inspiration for you? - it is really good for them to see their parents leading a healthy life isn't it, so you doing this will help them too. The programme does work - I'm on week 4 now and i literally never would have believed I could run anywhere till i started. Really good luck, it is so worth doing and once you've completed the first run you'll want to continue!

Thank you yes my kids are definitely my inspiration, also just always feeling tired and no energy so hoping this is going to change that too. Here’s to hoping!

Same...felt so knackered I asked the health shop for advice and got some magnesium which seemed to help 😊 good luck you can definitely do it - I find being talked through every single minute really helps.

Definitely! Actually I had a bit of a glitch myself today and couldn't complete the second week 4 run so taking a couple of days out and having another go. this is where I really appreciate the forum because I'm sure normally I would just have dropped out if I hadn't had advice and support from the community today. It's a really important part of the whole thing. Good luck and I really hope it goes well for you.

Follow the link given to you by IannodaTruffe .. well worth reading the advice there.

Welcome and well done you for starting this.

The mantra is slow and steady... take it gently and don't push yourself. Your five children will give you lots of strength and stamina exercise on your..err....rest days!!! :)

If you need an extra rest day between runs, then take it..listen to your body...keep posting and enjoy!

Hi thank you, what’s a rest day 🤷‍♂️😂😂, my eldest girl is 12 and she is really into cross country with the school so I think she will definitely be my tutor lol. I’m also just training to be a lgv driver so I’m definitely going to need this exercise. Just hoping I have time for everything. I’ll keep posting my progress.

So just been in run 1. It was better than I thought it would be! Just a heads up, don’t do what I did and end up just hearing the podcast and not logging the actual run! Doh!!! 🙈 Not to worry, will go on Saturday and start again! 😂

Well done for doing your first run! And oh no lol thanks for the heads up I’ll make sure I log it 🤦‍♂️ Hoping to get started tomorrow as I’m at the hospital with my son this morning and working this afternoon so tomorrow’s the start day! I’ll let you know how I get on.
