I’m doing RED January for Mind

I’ve been a bit under the weather recently and a little trip to the docs last week showed that my thyroid medication is very out and I’m Hyperthyroid. The side effect of this is exhausted and palpitations to name a few.

I am on my new dose now but want to build up with a plan but no pressure so RED for Mind seems perfect for me as it is to do something little every day, even if it is just a walk round the block. (Which it will be today after a couple of red wines last night😉)

I want to get back into my swimming slowly and of course my running but all nice and steady and controlled so this seemed perfect for me.

Legion it reminds a bit of the old days when we did Jantastic together. I used to love that to start the New Year.

I have decided I shall do my usual .... move everyday during January, so a similar thing. January will also be a non alcohol month too! Every couple of months I do this and have found by the end of the month I am moving so much easier. I’m not a big drinker but I do notice the difference of taking no alcohol for a month.

I always find if I commit to a daily minimum of 3k run/walk ( I do more distance most days), then I only have to decide when in the day I should do it, no faff about ‘shall’ I do it.

Sounds great, good luck, I am toying with the idea of a dry January. Hehe it will be easy to start today as like you I don’t drink much but I did last night so I really feel like I hate the stuff today 😂😂😂.

That’s such a good way to start the year and for raising awareness. I am going to have a look at joining up. Running is my little way of being less frazzled. Wishing you a fabulously red January. 🥳

Thinking I may join the local running club as childcare commitments will limit my day runs to need to fit in with a 1 year old’s naps! Not the freedom I’m used to. Telling you is my way of feeling I’ve got to do it (the easy group I’d Thursday’s). A bit like I posted on Facebook that I was starting C25K so that I’d be held to it!! I’m a starter but not always a finisher - until now. 😁

What a great plan RFC. Enjoy RED January; I'm sure it'll do the mind good, as will getting that darn thyroid regulated again.

Thank you. The thyroid already seems to be a bit better as my energy is on the way back and MrRfc says I have a little spring in my step again. 😀

Thank you I’m getting there. I think Red January is going to be fun, it forced me out the door today and i ended up doing a 9.5km walk 😀.
