I ran this morning .... and it’s the first time I seriously thought about stopping in the middle... my legs were tired and although I made myself finish I only ran 3k... I graduated last week and it’s the second run since then... are there any tips out there... it’s true I have been eating a lot of rubbish which probably hasn’t helped!!

This has been my week in a nutshell: I’m putting it down to diet and alcohol. I feel so sluggish!

Definitely not! I lugged my Christmas excesses round parkrun today and it was gruesome

Keeping up that running habit will really pay off when you get back to normal food and drink (whatever normal is hic!)

I’ve just done my 2nd run since graduating. My tip is to run slower with less effort rather than push. Why battle with your body when you can ease off the reins and enjoy the ride. That takes the pressure off your body and the next run your legs might be raring to go. KBO

I found the first few post graduation runs challenging without Michael spurring me on. What helped me was taking all the pressure off myself in terms of pace and distances - I just started to run for fun and listen to a good audiobook. I’m now a little over 3 months post-graduation and I’m still doing the same thing, but my standard runs are now 6k, my long funds take me past 10k and my times are improving from week-to-week. You’ve come a long way since W1 R1 - enjoy what you’ve achieved. Happy running.
