Everyone needs a running buddy sometimes. So here comes Frosty the Snowman to keep us all company !

Frosty the Snowman

Was a most unhappy soul

With a spreading bum

And a bulging tum

And his eyes wept tears of coal.

Frosty the Snowman

Wished that he could run and play,

So was he surprised

When before his eyes

His legs came to life that day.

There must have been some magic

In that podcast that he found,

For when he played it on his phone

He began to jog around !

Frosty the Snowman

Soon was fit as he could be,

And the children say

That Couch to 5k

Was the answer to his plea.

Frosty the Snowman

Knew that it would take some work,

But he said “Let’s run !

Soon it will be fun

If I manage not to shirk !”

So on through the first week

And the second week as well,

Running here and there

All around the square

Praying for the halfway bell.

He jogged on down the streets of town

On weeks 3,4 and 5;

He gained a trimmer silhouette

And he felt much more alive.

Frosty the Snowman

Had to hurry on his way,

But he waved goodbye

Saying “Don’t you cry -

I’ll be back when I’ve done 5k !”

Thumpety thump thump,

Thumpety thump thump,

Look at Frosty go,

Thumpety thump thump,

Thumpety thump thump,

Jogging through fields of snow ⛄️😄

Congratulations BCK on another great prose from you, of course you are C25K poet lauruet in residence, that rendition of Frosty the Snowman put a large smile on my face, I am sure that I will not be the only person that you have cheered up today

. 😊 I am just wondering as its almost New Years Eve (Hogmanay in Scotland) on Monday, you could write words for runners to the tune of Ould Lang Syne. 😊 Should all aquantance be forgot, etc.

Hadn’t thought of that one - my mind is leaning more towards ABBA just now !

Yes Abba did record a tune called Happy New Year, often played on the radio at exactly Midnight on 1st January.
