Now that my 2018 Alzheimer’s Challenge is completed, I find myself with some time on my hands, because I’m not on my feet!
So without further ado, our new playlist theme is:-

I’m hoping this avoids things like Orville songs, which I’m convinced are only ever bought for you and that no-one would actually buy themselves. UnfitNoMore you cannot tell me you bought Orville or any other comedy single!!!

Hi Molly - the great thing about being the playlist editor is I can wield power ... - actually it may work as a cool down track, so I’m putting it in. You went to the trouble to reply, so I can at least act on it.
I'm sorry to admit that the first single that I actually bought for myself with my own money was Don't You Want Me Baby by The Human League. If it makes the playlist I will have to sing a long to it as I run, I'm afraid.

Richards, incidentally my late wife who died of Alzheimer in 2010 also bought that same record back in 1959 for her 11th birthday. By the way Happy New year to you.
Oh Al, thanks so much for telling me this, I have been astonished at how many folk have been/are affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. Every step was worth it, to provide some funds towards the research effort. One day we will see this scourge gone. And Living Doll is most definitely in... And a very Happy New Year to you too
That’s a very reasonable excuse, and I think my first single (but bought for me) was ‘Lily the Pink’ - equally as gruesome, although I did hear a Pinky and Perky single on the radio the other day and shivered...
This is hilarious...my first single was actually 'remember you're a womble' but that was bought by one of my big brother's so thankfully, that doesn't count either!!! Haha x
We’ve got costumes we could lend you! 😂 My son dressed up as a womble for the pre-Christmas fancy dress Parkrun because he was promoting the local litter picking group 😂
I think it was Maggie May by Rod Stewart. I still like it but no longer have a crush on Mr Stewart

Hi Helen - it is in. The rest is going well, but I think I won’t mange the promised 2 weeks, - I think I have to run tomorrow - my leggings are whispering every time I pass them. Also I get a mysterious leg ache when I don’t run... Happy New Year to you

A couple of years later I met my lovely husband...... a Biker Boy at the time ... ( Ive shined up that term), complete opposites in the fashion stakes. It appears it is true...., opposites do attract.
Mind you Ive also shined him up over the years....so much so he is now a bit of a lable tart 🙄
Mine was a punk, I was more New Romantic and Glam Rock. But now I can see he would have loved to have been Beau Brummel - man he is a label freak too...
Way back in the seventies, I spent too much money on vinyl I can't be sure this was my first record, but it's in my collection, and one that helps me along today, 40 years later!

Well... first single I bought was Creeping Death by Metallica, so I guess that’s going to be my nomination.
The first track I bought would be long since forgotten and probably not available as I used to spend my pocket money buying tapes of, mainly, Bay Area thrash metal bands before they were signed, demos and live stuff and I can’t for the life of me remember which would have been the first one... some still exist in a box in the loft... one was sold for a lot of money a few years ago when Metallica hit the charts.
The first track I owned would have been on the first album I owned, so Holidays in the Sun - Sex pistols... though this was bought for me by my Dad... and the subject of a blazing row between my parents.
The first track I bought for myself would have been on Dirk Wears White Sox, and so Cartrouble (parts 1 & 2) - Adam and the Ants.
I believe that one of yours Without you, was number 1 in New Zealand the day I was born!!!
Yeah... in fact though mine is loud and fast it’s probably closer related to classical than most of the chart stuff, thrash metal pretty much demands virtuoso guitar playing. The singing sounds rough, but no auto tune in the studio so they sound the same live. I did and do like some mainstream and I PMed my ultimate album track to you earlier.... but I’ve also seen too many artists who sound good on a recording and damn awful live. I do have a love of horror fiction and film, so that has carried over into my music though.
As you know Jan...'temptation' by heaven 17 is my offering...I still absolutely love this song and can often be heard singing it somewhere around the house!! As I said earlier on in this thread, 'Remember you're a womble' ....nuff said...

To be honest - Joe Dolce would have got you a red card, plus anything involving children like St Winifreds School Choir. As UnfitNoMore can testify, I’m a fairly reasonable music editor
This is so embarrassing. I don’t remember buying a single, but I do remember buying the vinyl Top Gun soundtrack album with my birthday money and listening to ‘Take my breath away’ a lot. It was released in 1986 but I bought it a couple of years after 😂
