Christmas dinner as part of my training plan!

Like many people I ate way way too much yesterday. Went out today and had a lovely run. It felt easy, heart rate was down and had energy left at the end.

I've also noticed how many other people here have had lovely runs today (Beachcomber66 , cheekychipmunks to name but two).

Could it be that a huge roast, followed by Christmas pudding with lashings of cream, and a few glasses of your favourite tipple, is actually a good way of preparing for the next days run?

Food for thought!

Hehe I like your thinking. There is carb loading and then there is carb loading 😂😂😂. Joking aside I am sure that for some the extra calories will make a difference especially if you are trying to lose weight with a calorie deficit, when I train for my HM I try to balance my diet so as not to lose because then my training is stronger. I tend to diet between June and December and then as my training gets harder Jan to May I try to keep my weight the same, that way I know I am having enough calories that I need for my training.

That makes sense - you can't expect your body to perform if it hasn't got enough fuel in the tank.

Got to be honest though, that's not a problem I have - I do like to keep my fuel tank well topped up!

Unfortunately I didn't feel the same, I found my run really hard going today and only managed 20 mins. I'm not going to beat myself up tho as this time last year I wouldn't have moved off the couch all day and I would have been surrounded by choccie wrappers! I shall be more determined next run to get back to 30 mins!

Too right - we're all better than we were last Christmas!

But you got out there and ran, so well done you ⭐️ Always remember the First Rule of C25k: The only run you fail is the run you don’t go for !

I love your philosophy, TC !

I'm hoping my philosophy is flawed - I can't afford to have roast dinner every other day!

I had a great 9k today.

I was low carb yesterday, but other than that ate the Christmas classics.

Perhaps we are all keen to get home before the effect of the sprouts kicks in.

Maybe the sprout effect has kicked in and we're all jet propelled today 🌬🌬
