This one is especially for our awesome ButtercupKid .... I sang it all through my very short and sweet 1K this morning...:)

If you are running, enjoy, be safe and warm... if you are not able to run, sing this anyway...:)

May all Your Days be Merry and Bright x

The Runners' Carol

See us run past hedges of holly

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

'Tis the season to be jolly

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Don we now our buff and bob hat

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

What do we care, if we get laughed at

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

See the hill that's up before us,

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Keep on running, join the chorus

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Follow me, we must keep going

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Could be worse. it could be snowing,

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Graduation soon is coming,

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

What the heck, We'll keep on running

Fa la la la la la la la .. LA LA !!!

What it lacks in poetic merit..it makes up for in ear worm-ness:) xx

Incidentally, what in running terms is a buff ? Am I the only ignorant person here ? πŸ™„

It's a lightweight snood

ButtercupKidGraduate in reply to Tartancat

Thanks TC. My warped mind has instantly begun trying to imagine what a heavyweight snood would be like. I worry myself sometimes πŸ€ͺ

Not as warped as mine - when people say buff I hear naked

Well, I did wonder, but it seemed unlikely at this end of the year ! πŸ˜„

The most wonderful garment..worn around the neck..stops draught..rain..snow..hail..pull it up over your nose.. wear it as a hat..some folk even use it as a hanky!!

Ullyrunner told me about it the year I graduated..I think of her, everytime I put mine on...she was amazing...but has been absent for a while...Type Buff into Google..maybe Buff neck wear..to be safe xx

I know the kind of thing you mean. My husband used to use one for cycling before the arthritis hit. I must have a dig in the attic . . .

I have three different ones for running and two for best..much better than scarves..

I have a fantastic scarf I got from a friend a couple of years ago - it has an elasticated edge so it stays where you put it. We call it the Walking Hug πŸ˜„

Only just seen this, great lyrics. I’ll probably have the tune as an ear worm all night now.

Took me a while to nod off, but that gave me an excuse to get stuck into one of my new books (Christmas pressie). x
