I did the 3rd run of week 8 last night, and it was the first time I've felt fed up and grumpy from start to finish. I know that mood and attitude can have a big impact on performance: I did manage the full 28 minutes but it was a real struggle. I had been in a bad mood pretty much all day (poor night's sleep, poorly cat and major stress at work) but usually a run clears my head. Not yesterday, though. I'm going to have to start preparing myself mentally for W9R1 early (scheduled for tomorrow morning) because I really want to have a great final week of the programme and complete it with a flourish before the fabled Park Run on 22 December. Already planning an early night/no wine so that I am clear-headed and well-rested, but any advice on whether I should have a protein-based or a carb-based evening meal would be much appreciated.
