Good morning everyone...

The second week of December... and here we are again. ready for our, What is Your Week chat.

Sorry that I am a day late!

The year moves on and the hustle and bustle of the days of the Winterval, pass so quickly.

Dark mornings and dark, dark nights. The shortest day is beckoning and we shall be in the throes of the Season before we realise it. Weather here has been very wet and chilly... with the merest hint of ice in the rain this morning... I am just about recovered from my Bronchial ailments and will be allowed to run outside again, weather permitting this week. I cannot wait:)

Hopefully, weather permitting, we are all going to still find the right time and the opportunity to complete our runs.

But remember if you are not feeling on top form..those runs always wait for us:)

With numbers increasing, it is great, to have a little fun post, so we can see who is on which week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.

We can support, encourage and generally help each other, in a positive and friendly way, with no thought of comparison.

Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.

If you have just graduated, also, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, and there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum also, for Graduates.

So, come and join the fun.... Let us know how it is going :)

Still labouring through week 7! Have only had time to run twice this week so it’s progressing slower than planned. Today was such hard work, and I had to stop and walk for the first time ever: twice in the last 5 mins in fact. I know to trust in the programme but I can’t imagine being comfortable running 25mins, let alone 28...!

Don't worry it can happen... try to up your stamina and strength exercise, if you are able. on some rest days.. as the runs get longer it helps... I am struggling to get runs in too... When you head out to do the run again... relax and slow right down..let the legs take you:)

You'll get there:)

That really helped: thank you x

Mixture of week 4 and 5 for me this week as I do a every other day running week to miss school performance days and set myself up to be on the right days for school holidays and Christmas week running schedule. I sat down and plotted each running day for the rest of Dec to make sure I could keep it up in this crazy season. I know what they say about the best laid plans but equally fail to plan, plan to fail. Now off to ring MIL about what days I need her help with kids for 30 mins 😂.

Dear Oldfloss, This line of your post was the most important one, "But remember if you are not feeling on top form..those runs always wait for us:)" The reason is because I am holding on to this community by your "thread."

Thank you.

Just graduated today! Can't believe it, very chuffed with myself! I put up a longer post earlier. I'll keep repeating W9 for the time being.

Planning on having a go at Week 6 Run 3 today and moving on to week 7 over the coming week. I was so envious of those who were this far into the programme when I started- it seemed a million miles away. This programme makes you able to do things you never thought possible. I started on the 4th November and could have thrown up on those first runs 🤮🤮🤮 - I am hoping that was my all time fitness low and I can just keep on building on what C25K has done for me

You have done brilliantly... and you will keep going.. we will make sure of it:)

Finished w3 today, I’m a bit scared about starting week 4 as it means running for a total of 16 mins. So far its been maximum of 9 mins. 😱😱

Oldfloss profile image
OldflossAdministratorGraduate in reply to Shelley2310

No need for fear.. steady and slow is the way to go :)

You know you can ! We’re all right behind you. It doesn’t have to be done on the first time of trying - but knowing you, it probably will be

Well I’ve run over forty miles this week for my running club’s run up to Christmas challenge. I really am not used to running every day but Im determined to carry on every day until Christmas Day then I will go back to running every other day. I must admit I’m getting competitive with my Strava and Garmin apps on the go, must be the Scorpio sign in me.

Massive well done you!!!

Hello. I've just completed r3w8!! I never thought I would get this far. I really enjoy running either early or later in the day and on a bIt of the road if i can (why does it feel better running on the road?) On a downside...the last few weeks ive only done one or two runs and im only doing 3.5k in total. I'm guessing if I can do 3 runs a week the distance will fall into place.

Oldfloss profile image

Well done you...the more runs you do..the distance and speed..if you wish it..follow. Lots to work on after Graduation...😉

Just started the attack on week 3. My target was to complete it by Christmas, but it’s going better than expected so far !

Glad you’re on the mend, Oldfloss. When it’s nice outside it’s a shame to have to miss it !

First run of week 8 today after struggling with boredom and my mind telling me to stop in wk 7. (I ignored the voice except briefly on r3 when I took shelter from hailstones.) And today I actually ran for a few minutes too long. I don't use the podcast and I don't look at my watch until I'm sure I'm close (because that's when the voices start 😂 - 'only that time, feels like more, you're not improving' etc etc). Didn't expect that, but back to 28 mins on Tues.

Boredom! My runs finish too soon.. there is so much to see! :)

Go you.. well done...on you go :)

Still injured ☹️. But I can do one legged heel lifts now, and have been doing heel drops on the stairs without pain. Walking around the park at juniors today was comfortable, just the odd tiny twinge. Planning a 5k walk around the park in the week (1k laps and plenty of benches if it hurts) and then another next weekend... maybe I can run half a mile then too?! We shall see, but feeling very positive.

Oldfloss profile image
OldflossAdministratorGraduate in reply to UnfitNoMore

That does sound very positive. The exercises are clearly helping too... you will know when the moment is right to try out the legs... happy healing.. x

Oldfloss profile image

It happens.. and I KNOW I walk faster on some bits of my runs:) Well done you!

Hope I can jump in on to this awesome weekly chat. My weather is completely the opposite since I'm living in the tropics. I'm on W3R2 today, having restarted C25K after almost graduating in June this year. Cool climes in another country helped me get through the first round, but the heat and humidity of my tropical island home and several months without being able to run have sent me back to the starting line. But I'm confident I'll get through this time as well.

On the very positive side, I've managed to get myself out of bed at 5 to go running around a nearby track built around a wetland area and it's definitely cooler, though there are reports that when the sun comes out, a few baby crocodiles may come out to sunbathe...
