W5R3 oh ye of little faith

I decided for week 5 (as part of my meditation and relaxation plan) to not fret over the content until the day. So this morning, it was with a great deal of trepidation and a pinch of disbelief that I started my 20 minutes. I was unsure after 5 minutes if I would make it, felt OK at half way, upper leg muscles started to hurt after that, but I did make it to the end, slowing down somewhat, but not stopping before the end. A huge feeling of achievement. I thought 3 x 5 minutes was great, but I now feel I will complete the whole nine weeks - I had doubted that before. Thanks to all forum members who post their honest feelings. It has really helped me to come along this far. I attended the type 2 diabetes DESMOND course yesterday, and that was a great learning opportunity too. What a great program for ordinary folks. :-)

Well done. As you move towards more continuous runs it’s worrh bearing in mind that the first ten minutes is usually the hardest - so your experience of thinking after five minutes you couldn’t do it, only to find that by fifteen minutes you were feeling better, is pretty typical. Slowing down to ensure you finished was also a smart move.

Many compliments!

I’d like to speak a better English to explain my feelings in a more effective way, anyway reading your post I learnt the proper names of my today feelings: trepidation, disbelief...but, at the end of the run, just happiness👍

Well done 'Runner'. It is an amazing feeling of exhilaration when you complete this run- I still remember it as one of my highlights.
