Hello all!

A mixed bag of weather these shorter day. But this week Im over in the Canary Isles for a winter sunshine break, so back to running in shorts and vest for me 😎

So if you are back in Blighty, remember to wear something hi vis so that you can be seen, and experiment with the amount of layers needed! It seems set to drop colder 🌧

So, welcome all to this new week of β€œWhat is your week?” Can you believe it takes us into December already?

Whats’s the idea of "What is your Week?”.

Well every week I am going to put up a post, so you can add in a little post underneath, to say what week you are planning to do this week.

Sample post (feel free to put as much or as little as you like):

β€œHi, I'm Millsie-J and this week, I am doing the milestone Week 6 runs. Feeling a little nervous, any tips folks? β€œ

We are growing so much at the moment and we wanted to have a little fun post ,so we can see who is on what week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.

Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.

If you have just graduated, this will also be a great place to keep you motivated, there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum as well, for Graduates.

Come on you lurkers, we would love to hear from you too!

I like coming on here to post and read what everyone else is doing as I find on here people are interested in running and what you've got to say where as people who don't run I think find it boring. So I'm glad I joined c25k and I'm now in wk6 and I'm loving it 😊😊😊

Ive finished C25K so this week I’ve done 2 30 mins ish runs and one longer when I managed 4.5 k

Hoping to get the elusive 5k next Sunday

I absolutely love my runs and look forward to them - even in the rain β˜”οΈ

Hi, I started Week 6 yesterday and am looking forwarding to giving the 25-minute run 3 of the week my best shot on Thursday evening! We have rain forecast for my Tuesday and Thursday evening runs, but I tend to overheat, even in the thinnest of layers, so at least the rain will keep me cool!

At last I’ve managed to jog all six runs of a week 2 session. Aiming now to do that twice more. Then I can scare myself with week 3 πŸ˜„

Hi! I’m starting Week 7 on C25k tomorrow! I feel a little nervous when I think it’s all running from here! I have trusted the plan though and it’s got me this far! I am really loving getting out for a run but takes me until 10 mins in to feel it! I always feel like the Tin Man for the first 5 mins of running! Have a great week πŸ€—

The first 10 mins or so are always hard work aren't they? Read about "toxic 10" for explanation. Still happens every run though!

I just completed the third run of week 1, yay! I'm on to week 2 on Wednesday (I've been doing every other day, with one rest day in between).

I graduated back in September. I'm doing 3 runs a week and now managing 5k each time. I've surprised myself, I'm absolutely loving it, and actually look forward to them.

I’m just about to start W3 R1. Should have gone today but a poorly little boy kept me at home but I shall definitely be heading out tomorrow. I’ve been really surprised on week 2 how I coped with the increase almost feeling like I could carry on longer so I have hope going in to week 3 and I don’t feel quite a daunted. I’ve been amazed as well at how therapeutic it is getting out for a run and I’m really starting to enjoy it. I can see how people get addicted to running! ☺️ Have a good week all!

W7 R2 tonight. And I’m doing the Santa Run on Sunday. 5k which I’m clearly not ready for yet. But my plan is to run with my couchto5k app, then walk a bit and se if I can run the last bit! I’ll be on W8 R1 by Sunday. I’m looking forward to the challenge though.

On W5R2 today.....the ache on the side of my left calf has subsided, am trying my new ASIC gel shoes today so am psyching myself to be cautious...would hate to strain anything slam going to track bottoms to get and keep my legs warm. Have no issues breathing, seem to have loads of puff left after each session, I think I need more pre and after stretching...any thoughts or advice always helpful πŸ˜πŸ€”

I am focusing on just getting out of the door 3 times this week. It has been a stressful few weeks combined with a cold and then throat infection. So had a couple of weeks where I just wanted to sleep after work. Running group last night so off to a start :)

I have signed upto Red January as a motivation to get out every day.

So, to sum, to get out and run regularly again x

Finished week one, feeling good but 30 mins running still looks like Everest. Still running in my walking trail shoes and they feel fine, trying hard not to hit the running shops yet, just in case I fall out of love with this challenge.

'What is you week?' Isn't an entirely straightforward question. I began C25K on the treadmill, got to week 4, then went for a run outside. Ouch. I realised that outside running is much, much harder than treadmill running. So I put myself back two week for outdoor running, but continued with my progress on the treadmill. I only use the treadmill once a week, so I've nearly caught up. I'm about to go for my first week 4 run outside. When I do my treadmill run on Thursday I'll be starting week 5. Then on Saturday - at parkrun - I'll either repeat week 4 2, or 5 1, depending on how this morning goes. It's wet and windy outside, and my route is full of steep hills. If this run goes well (having already conquered it on the treadmill) I may be ready to move on. Or I may need more practice. Either way is good - it's the journey I'm focusing on, not the destination.

I’m really enjoying it. I managed the w2r1 intervals quite well. I must be getting fitter. I started it originally a month ago, but got a knee injury after w1r3. This time no injury phew. I’m doing this as a part of a total life change. Gave up smoking 13 weeks ago, started healthy eating and the gym. I’ve lost just over 2 stone, still 3 or 4 to go but feel so much better. Haha 🀣

Just completed W7R3 and found it harder than the previous two runs. Didn’t feel out of breathe but felt like I couldn’t take a deep breathe,almost like someone was sitting on my chest, i think it was to do with the fact that I was running faster than previous weeks, I was doing 9.4 kph as opposed to 8.8 kph but my running felt better and stronger.

I’ve just done w2r2 but started on Saturday on w2 as have some done bits of running in the past.

Not finding it too hard so far, actually quite enjoying it, just reading about other runners completing weeks 5 or later, just seems like an age away, can’t believe I will ever be able to post that I have completed week 5 and run for 20 mins, I’m only just managing 90 seconds 😧. Have set myself a target to do a park run at the end of Jan and be able to run the whole way, seems such a feat though! Really glad to be part of this group, everyone is so supportive πŸ˜€.

I started Week 7 last night in the lovely winter weather in the UK. Wind and rain but I did the 25 min run and really enjoyed it. Am absolutely loving running and finally feel I’ve found my feet :-) due to do my first 5K about a week after I finish the programme, dressed as a Santa. Really scared about that but I hope then to be able to join a park run near me. Running makes me happy. Never believed I would ever think that!

I just did my first consolidation run yesterday :)

I completed my graduation runs on flat beaches and wasn't sure about going back to my normal hilly, muddy trail rout.

Pleased to say I smashed it! I think it must have been as much of a mental block as anything. Some how knowing I could run for 30mins made the hills less traumatic... I slowed way way down on the very steep bits but kept on running!

I also kinda liked running in the rain and mud soggy feet and all, my distance in the 30mins was 4.9k so just off the 5k that I managed on the flat easy beach.

So pleased I started c25k!
