Hi

I started from scratch again after having to take 10week break after a back injury. Am I did rather than trying to run too far too soon. I'm now about to finish w8. Good luck.

You’re gonna miss all the snow and ice?! There’s a silver lining everywhere! Sorry to hear that you’re gonna be out so long, but at least you know what it is... spring is a lovely time to run too... and you know you can do it next time.

I’m sorry you are on the bench. I started running three years before my official start. My running highlighted a undiscovered thyroid condition that could of turned serious left untreated. I always think my running saved me and it has brought so many positive results even when at times it has felt negative. Speedy recovery but most importantly look after yourself. Rfc x

Thank you I was lucky as I was on medication for a stroke I had some years back so it got rid of the clot

Ouch, that's nasty. But at least you now know what's wrong, and a timescale for getting back on the road.

Wishing you a speedy recovery 😊

I was on the IC for four months starting in October last year.

I have to say, doing the programme from scratch again probably has made me a better runner :)

Without the "fears of the unknown" second time around, I was able to focus on Form, Pace, Cadence etc - and had a much more productive and enjoyable time :)

Sometimes it's good to get back to basics :)

Sorry to hear this, sounds like you are making the best of it though with a positive outlook. I did the programme twice too after an operation and as Irish John says, I think it has plus sides. A bit like passing your driving test second time 😁

Hi Garden, sorry you're out for so long, but it makes all the difference when you know what's wrong, all the best for when you start again. I had to start again at about week 4 after a long break when I hurt my foot. I'm nearly back to week 9 but it's taken a long time to get back and it may take a few weeks more to get to 5k again. Patience is the key.
