Hello all!

What a great time of year to run! But time to think about a few more layers maybe, and most definitely to make sure we can be seen on these darker days.

I picked up some light-up arm bands from Aldi for next to nothing a couple of winters ago, they are still going strong! Put one on your wrist, and one on your ankle to help motorists pick up the movements that indicate there’s a runner around. HiViz are essentials, Neon reflectors of any kind are also great.......why not embrace the neon! Head torches or chest torches (my preference) are great but not everyone will find the need for these.

So, welcome all to November week 2 of “What is your week?” Whats’s the idea of "What is your Week?”.

Well every week I am going to put up a post, so you can add in a little post underneath, to say what week you are planning to do this week.

Sample post (feel free to put as much or as little as you like):

“Hi, I'm Millsie-J and this week, I am doing the milestone Week 6 runs. Feeling a little nervous, any tips folks? “

We are growing so much at the moment and we wanted to have a little fun post ,so we can see who is on what week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.

Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.

If you have just graduated, this will also be a great place to keep you motivated, there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum as well, for Graduates.

Come on you lurkers, we would love to hear from you too!

Happy running everyone🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏻🌞

Hi, I'm Amerynthe, and this week I will be doing the final run of week 4 and then moving on to week 5. I never thought I'd get this far, let alone be looking forward to my runs, but I'm finding the programme and this forum very inspirational, so thank you to everyone who takes the time to post and encourage others.

Yes ! Yet another opportunity to tell everyone I’ve made it to week 2 at last ! Yes - me ! Finished 2:1 about 2 hours ago and still haven’t stopped bouncing around and grinning like a feel, as we say up here in the frozen north 🤪

Yay! Congratulations! So glad I spotted your post. I've had ME and never thought I'd run at all, so I know what it's like to have a less than willing body. I've got stuck the middle of the programme, but will persevere, winter permitting. Keep going, Buttercup kid!

Good work tackling this and the ME too, RT ! Things do plateau for a while at times, so don’t get downhearted. Even tackling week 1 I managed to get stuck for a bit ! Folk on the forum advised me just to try pushing myself a few steps further each time. We can all manage five steps more than we think we can ! So often it’s a mental issue more than a physical one. But if you watch time lapse film of a flower opening, that doesn’t happen smoothly either. It’s a series of spurts, rests and the occasional relapse. As long as we just keep getting out there, we’ll make it in the end x

That's a great image, the time-lapse film of a flower opening! I shall bear that in mind!

Hello. I will be starting week 4 this week.... nothing short of a miracle! Not sure how long it will take to complete the week though, running for five minutes will not be easy, I fear!

You can do it Gene! Enjoy 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻

I have felt the same at the start of every new week, but at the start of week 4 I approached it with a different mindset - 'This is in a opportunity to see what I can do' rather than 'Oh, I'm not sure I can do this'. And it worked. If I can do it at 58, carrying an excess 5 stone, you can do it too! Please post and let us know how you got on!
