So I graduated August 2017 (look at my previous posts to find my back story) and on September the 9th 2 days before my 60th birthday I ran my 1st official 5k and raised £500 for the veterans society.

Shortly after this I was called in by my Dr because I'd hit one of those significant ages for a well man clinic were it was discovered my blood pressure was high along with my cholesterol and according to my bmi I was twice the man I used to be.

A heart attack waiting to happen!

Medication was suggested but I said NO and that I would see were a continued running program would take me

The photo shows me in September 2017 ( excuse the daft face as I was messing about lol)

Now take a look for my follow on post to see where it's taken me!

I was like that as well Rolysmate too, I have always exercised and been of normal weight.

Just after my 60th birthday I also had to go for a medical, everything was fine with me except my BMI, or should I say my cholesterol was off scale, I think the only thing that saved me from a heart attack back then 12 years ago was all the cycling and walking I did, I was not obese. I do now have one of those weighing machines that tell you what your weight, height, BMI is, hopefully with now running and a better diet plus low doseage cholesterol tablets I am healthier now than I was 12 years ago.

This is NOT the same person....

We know this is a photoshopped image...

Handsome man!!

I've been on meds for my blood pressure for a couple years, seems all good for me. But obviously I'd prefer not having to take them. I'm waiting for a cold to pass before doing run3 of week one. Hoping I'll get hooked on running and my weight and BP will come down.
