Week 5 Run 1 completed

Hi, just done wk5r1 and it went really well! I am massively overweight and have never run before starting C25K, but my biggest problem is my mindset before the run, I get so miserable about it and it takes all my will power to do it, yet when I have done it, I am buzzing that I have done something positive. I get cross with myself that I get like that.

Well Done Rach! You are doing fantastic. I am a bit like you, have to sometimes force myself to go for a run,but get a great sense of achievement when I finish. Just try and think on the positives pre run. It is definitely worth it. Good luck ,I know you can do it 👍

I’m exactly at the same point on the programme as you, and I too sometimes feel I face each run with fear and then feel so chuffed when I’ve done it - yesterday for w5r1 I was worried and then thought I can this and i will. I was grinning like a Cheshire Cat once completed! We can do this!!!

Well done - you have no need to beat yourself up about your feelings. Forgive yourself, draw a line under the bad stuff & hold on to the good feelings the c25k running gives. Good luck with next run, keep on going!

Well done.

The fact that you're already on week 5 shows you've got the mindset needed to keep going.

Clearly you've got more determination than you know.

Go go go :-)

Rach, you should be so proud of yourself for getting out there and achieving this. I am wk5r2 and I am now starting to believe the program, if we get past wk5r3 it think it is then just an matter of time and effort for us.

I am no longer 'massively overweight' but I always was until I was 45.(7 Yrs ago) but it left me believing I'd damaged my knees and ankles so much I'd never run. Even until this week I was saying I'll just do one more week and see if the knee pain kicks in. It hasn't and like you I get a real buzz when I complete a run.

Well done you for making this happen for yourself!
