Why nots:

- Absolutely Exhausted

- Rubbish week at work, staying very late both Wed and last night

- Hardly slept a wink

Whys:

- Not managed to run since Tue

- Kept going on coffee and chocolate

- Beautiful day and should be home before dark

- Even if I crawl round on my hands and knees I KNOW I will feel SO much BETTER for it!!!

- Should help me sleep a bit better tonight

Well, what can I say? ๐Ÿค”

Go, Dragonflies, go!!!

Feel free to stop running if you..... fall to the ground ๐Ÿ™Šbut it's not your way, you know it.

Don't have a look to your couch and go out, just for 28' run.

I understand your feeling, I did w8r2 this morning, it's friday..... this evening we will go to bed before yesterday evening, tired but happy

xx

Thank you so much for cheering me on, I really need it!!!

I VOTE RUN! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Only because you've put more whys than why nots, so I think you secretly want to run!

GO GO GO!

Go and run! You know you want to!

Dragonflies profile image
DragonfliesGraduate in reply to SubterraneanAlien

Something deep inside is telling me that, but I just need to โ€œexpandโ€ my conscious mind. Well, bang it into my head really!

I also vote ๐Ÿƒ run with ThunderSloth, Dragonflies, not really advisable to to crawl round on your ๐Ÿ–๏ธ and knees but if you want to do it that way it's better than sitting on the couch at home watching Netflix.

So true!!!

in reply to AlMorr

๐Ÿคฃ ...well put AlMorr!

AlMorr profile image

Don't get me wrong both ThunderSloth and Dragonflies, I have Netflix, I got it free from my daughter as the TV firm that supplies Netflix to her is the same company as supplies both my TV and Broadband. Apparently it gives 4 free Netflix packages free to friends of the payer, so by a certain password she told me I now watch some films and documentaries on Netflix AFTER I do my runs or exercises.

in reply to AlMorr

Ooh! sounds like a great deal AlMorr. I think when Iโ€™d exhausted Netflix of everything that I could binge watch (โ€ฆnot so far from the truth) I needed some new entertainment, I didnโ€™t for one minute expect it to be running!!!

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to

Since I got Netflix I don't "binge watch", although I understand why that could be done, after anything it goes straight on to the next, well whatever you have been watching, so I press the cancel button or TV button and come out of Netflix.

in reply to AlMorr

Youโ€™re a stronger man than I AlMorr. I dread to think of the amount of times Iโ€™ve said โ€œgo on thenโ€ฆ just one more before bedโ€ฆโ€ Iโ€™ll have to have a look in 'settings' and see if I can switch that feature off.

As I say, I am new to Netflix, I think if you press the TV button on your remote you can come out of Netflix.?? I think.

You have a choice: enjoying the warm glow of satisfaction that comes after going out for a run when you have good excuses not to and realising how much you enjoyed it OR the gloomy, nagging anxiety of knowing that you could really have gone running but didn't and thinking that you would have been a lot happier if you had. No brainer really, isn't it?

Very true and profound, my consciousness is beginning to take note ๐Ÿ“

Go for it Dragonflies!! I agree with everyone else who has posted - you'll feel much better for it! When I've been feeling a bit like you do now, support from fellow runners really helped me to JFDI!! See you on the other side!

The cheering I got from all of you lovely people helped me do it, and I am soooo glad I did. Beginning to relax now ๐Ÿ˜Š

Run, dragonflies, RUN!

I think after doing it you'll sleep better and feel more accomplished. It will be nice to end the week on a good feeling rather than a defeted feeling!

Also, if you don't do it you might fall into the habit of letting excuses get in the way of it. Think of running as a "I MUST" rather than a "I should"

I use "I must" rather than "I should" in many aspects of my life to stop myself from giving up on things.

Good luck!

So true what you said about ending the week on a good feeling instead of a defeated feeling, I am beginning to relax now ๐Ÿ˜Š

Pros: itโ€™ll get rid of the stresses of the week

Youโ€™ll get a boost with the post run rush

You could amaze yourself

Even if you donโ€™t complete the run, youโ€™ll be stronger in a couple of days when you go at it again.

That chocolate will fuel you nicely.

Cons:

I dunno

Iโ€™m saying go for it.

I feel truly empowered! Thanks to every single one of you for cheering me on! I really couldnโ€™t have done it without you lot โค๏ธ

Real life gremlins kept flying at me. Half an hour late leaving the office because of document impossible thatโ€™s given me grief during the last couple of days. In the end I got down on my hands and knees and begged to bring it home so that I could leave! M25 Friday afternoon, need I say no more! Your cheering and encouragement gave my cars wings so miraculously I was only the half hour late home despite the congestion! Running leggings back to front, plus usual fumble. But I managed to set off, run and complete. Victory!

And, yes, I do feel good!
