W3R2 feeling fitter, knee is feeling stronger, breathing better BUT sore ankles.....and they just didnt want to run!

Any advice for naughty ankles?

Slow down, avoid heelstriking, keep footfall under your body not out in front, run on grass or treadmill and wear proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop.............. basically, the same as for most new runner's aches and pains, which are caused by impact on relatively weak muscles.

It will get better.

One of the exercises I was given to strengthen ankles is to stand on one leg for 30 secs. Do both legs twice. When you can do it with eyes closed, you’ve cracked it. I still can’t. 😂
