New trainers and blisters!!

I finally treated myself to some new running trainers, I’ve been wanting some for a while but wanted to wait until week 7/8 before investing!

So I got some on Friday last week, I’ve ran in them twice and one shoe has given me a hugeee blister on my heel! This happened on my first run so I waited 2 days instead of one for my next run. I’ve just got back from my run and didn’t feel my blister until I finished and started walking and realised it’s gotten worse and bled all over my sock! 😩 my boyfriend jokingly says it’s a running injury and I should let it heal before my next run...

Any tips of ideas for getting rid of blisters or bedding new trainers in? Any recommendation what I can do about the current one on my heel?! I don’t want to have to have time off from running 😩

Maybe a sock problem ? I used to get blisters too until I bought real running socks (antifriction). That did wonders for my feet. They were a bit pricier than what I'd usually spend on socks, but I got just the one pair and wash it between runs.

I agree, get good running socks. They really work, each sock is labeled for left and right feet. You only need to buy a couple of pairs. They are amazing.

Scholl & compeed both do blister shield plasters. I wear runderwear socks, there double layered to prevent blisters. I had no problems even with new trainers wearing them. Bit pricey but worth it in my humble opinion. Hope your sorted soon 👍🏻

I’ve got loads of shoes and socks but I still get so**ing blisters 😫.

I would go with the anti blister socks idea though and see how it goes Blisters on the heel is the worst place ☹️ If there’s no improvement you can take em back To the shop and see what they have to say I’d it was a proper running shop they won’t mind at all.

I hope you can get it sorted out 🙂

Sorry no tips but I’m exactly the same position as you. I’m going to try anti blister socks with mine to see if that helps
