Went out for a shortie

First run for over a week, and lately I've been pulling shifts at work that end after midnight, so I've been pushing against exhaustion for a few days. Managed a pretty slow 2k, but better than staying on the couch, right?

Hey too right Jundal. A slow 2k is better than 0k on the couch! 👏👏

Have a great weekend. I’m off to get drenched at park run in the morning. 💦💦💦

Oh my word, 15 hour days? 😳 Brutal. Hopefully you’ll have time for a run or two next week? 🏃

Yeah, tomorrow and Friday, gonna pull at least 5k tomorrow if it kills me. I need to get some distance in my legs! Gonna avoid hills though!

Tomorrow’s my long run of the week too. 6.5k tomorrow. Come on, Jundal, we’ve got this! 👊😀

We have, gonna go 5k and see how far I can go after that! (I might surprise myself!)

You doing ju-ju's bridge?

No, not at the moment, but I might join the next one. I’ve been adding 0.25k each week to a 5k as my long run and tomorrow is 6.5k. Are you? 😀

I'm not on the bridge, no. Rather than doing that, I tend to listen to the competitive voice inside me that demands I do more. It's difficult at the moment, seeing as I've actually put on around 2 stone since I started, (I know, bad me, too much pizza and I'm currently about 18.5 stone) but when I'm on one, I tend to think, go on. You can do it. Just a little more. The drill sergeant in my head has other things to say though, so I tend to go for 5k at least, but I also realise that I can't push too hard, as I'll have nothing left 'in the tank' tomorrow. I'm just doing what I can, keeping my fitness and realising that due to very personal reasons, there's a diet coming. And there'll be a lot less of me afterwards.

Fair enough. Sounds like you have an internal plan which works for you. And you seem quite stern with yourself, so I have every reason you’ll achieve your goal!

Let’s see how we get on tomorrow! I’m going for 6.5k. 😀🏃‍♀️🏃👊

Every run has a purpose... nice 2k recovery/comeback runs are very good to set you up for the next one. Good job
