Hey all I completed week 3 run 1 today it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be! I’m only managing just over 2k in the 25 minutes tho, is this bad should I be doing the 5k? I’m a complete beginner not sure on rules etc .

Ok... there are no rules... this is your journey... even the very best athletes only compete with themselves.

This is all about changing your life... running 5k won’t do that. Running 30 minutes will. You’re doing just great... keep it up. When you get to the end of this programme you’ll be capable of running 30 minutes three times a week for as long as your legs will carry you. That will add years to your life expectancy. That’s the amazing gift doing this offers... there’s no medals, no free t-shirt, just pride and extra life. If you graduate this running 2 or 3k, you still get that prize.

Get through the programme and then, if you want to, worry about 5k... for now, just do this!

Hey Orangecakerock the only rule is don't compare yourself to others 😊 your journey, your struggle (not too many I hope) and your successes 💪

But if it helps my distance dropped as the running segments increased as I had to go slower to achieve them. I've just finished wk4 and average just under 2.5k on the flat.

Have you read the FAQS post? It's in the pinned post section. Well worth it if you haven't x

Only 10% of folk achieve the 5k within the 9 weeks so you are far from alone.

Keep up the good work, you are doing brilliantly 👏👏👏
