That's the colour run booked!

After going for a nice gentle 4k run with the lad earlier, (never thought I'd describe a 4k run as 'nice and gentle') I've gone and booked and paid for our places in the Coalville colour run! Going to run on Tuesday and Thursday, then have a couple of days off before Sunday morning. Apparently, you get around 90 minutes for the 5k, so I think we should have enough time!

Although, with the lads performance today, give it a couple of months and I'll be gasping trying to keep up with him... Looks like I'll have to up my endurance and outlast the little tinker!

Yeah, I’ve seen your stats... you could crawl it in 90 minutes 😂

Yup... keep him on 5k work and get some marathon training in 😂😂

Sounds like he’s doing great... what a great way of spending quality time together.

It was lovely actually, I was listening to 'zombies, run!' and updating him as we went on what we 'picked up' and what was about to drag us down and eat us. He did really well, but he's absolutely shattered now! And just learned that apparently one of his friends and his dad are going so we'll have some company at the other end!

Awww Jundal, how lovely that he has taken to running so readily! Something you can do together for a long time to come!

You’re right though, he’ll be whooping you upside the head before too long, like all my kids and husband do to me! 😅

In speed, he could already whup me good and proper, (over longer distance, my legs are still a lot longer than his and I can zoom off when I have to, just not for very long) but with enough diligent training I'll be able to outdistance him, no matter how much effort he puts in. Simple fact is, he's eleven. Once I'm up to 10k - half marathon distances, he can tell me i'm a slow as he wants, I'll just offer to sign him up for my next race! 😂

Ahh yes, you could challenge him to a race over 13 miles! He might rethink that challenge! My kids are all in their 20’s and run naturally without trying. Definitely got that from dad and not me! 🙄😅

That's the one, the phrase "want to go for a PROPER run?" 😂😂😂

Yeah, and they put them in the feminine hygiene section to add to any embarrassment a gentleman may already have!

I shall.. of course, forgive you! You are not the first, on here to assume I am some weird , grey haired old hermit living in a cave... !

Quite the opposite really!

I am old... and fairly weird... but..I am not grey, and I have short hair...and I don't live in a cave... :)
