Knees - i know this is a common issue 😥

Hi everyone, i made it to W3 R2 and im now on "run rest" my knees are absolutley killing me. On the inside and underneath of both knees are very painful, ive resorted to taking bufen for the pain. Im not sure whether its due to the fact i over did the speed last week or if its due to the chemo i had 3 months ago? Its so frustrating, has anyone got any tips? Xx

I currently have both my knees taped due to straining my medial ligaments Relief for me, was almost immediate. I saw a sports therapist. If your concerned this may be due to underlying health issues, perhaps a review with your dr is advisable? Hope you get sorted soon & are out of pain

I agree with Anny that a G.P. visit, in light of your medical history, might be a good idea. However I struggled with knee pain until I had a gait analysis and "proper" running shoes. If you've not done this it may solve your problem.

Gait analysis done sparkyjohn & have some nice new trainers. Not allowed to run yet though 👍🏻

Sorry OL61 it seems I've muddled Anny's' question with your answer, doh! 🤦‍♂️

It just proves I shouldn't be allowed on a computer unsupervised, anyway, I can see Anny has received the advice I was trying to give her, and I hope you are back running soon.😃

So now I'm off to make a nuisance of myself on Digital Spy 🙋‍♂️

It is to do with your body reacting to the stresses that you are imposing on it, particularly the impact of running.

Do all you can to minimise the impact. Slow down, avoid heelstriking, keep footfall under your body not out in front, run on grass or treadmill and wear proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop.

Rest and ice may also help but if it persists get professional medical advice.

Hi Abby - we’ll done so far! I had exactly the same problem after a couple of weeks. Went to running shop and they did a gait analysis. I ‘over pronate’ So sort of flat footed! So they recommended very supportive trainers. I tried on half a dozen pairs. Now No knee pain - it has changed everything! So it really depends on your own personal walking style.

Ps I love sketchers too - but they are v soft and weren’t helping me.

Good luck!
