Did it! πŸ™ŒπŸ‘πŸ˜€

I’m so proud, and loved every minute. There were some killer hills which slowed my pace down a bit - but I kept running and completed it in 41.30! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜€ 🐌

We’d scoped the course out in the week and knew it was hilly, but we’d missed a section out, and that bit had a short but STEEP hill back onto the main course. 😳 It took me by surprise, and I was running slower than some of the walkers! πŸ˜… But I didn’t walk and I’ll be prepared next time! πŸ’ͺ🏻

My daughter sadly had to pull out after a short time as her knee was playing up. She’s going to get it checked out, and she was very disappointed not to continue. Wise decision though and she knows that. ❀️

Can’t do next weekend, but 2 weeks today I’ll be back out there! I’m a total addict!! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Hope everyone’s had/will have great runs this weekend! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈβ€οΈ

Thanks UNM! She’s cross because she tried out some different trainers this week, thinking they’d be better to run in - clearly not. She’s very lean and fit, so they obviously didn’t suit her running style as her old ones caused her no issues. πŸ™„

Could be the shoes... let’s hope so, it may be more expensive but it’s less painful.

Awwww thank you Hotheels! It’s such an amazing feeling of achievement, especially struggling with the 1 minute runs of W1 less than 3 months ago! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Are you tempted to give parkrun a go? It’s the best and I can’t wait for 2 weeks time! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Well done. I’m so glad you enjoyed it, sorry to hear of your daughters knee problem and pulling out was the best thing to do. So even more congratulations to yourself as you carried on beat those nasty hills and finished it excellent. That’s it now you’re hooked like the rest of us Saturday morning parkrun addicts πŸ˜€πŸ‘

Thanks Runsome. Yes, totally addicted now! I’m planning some hill training this week, so I’ll be prepared for the next one. πŸ’ͺ🏻

Yes it’s funny how them mountains seem to loose their threat. I was going to say turn into molehills but that’s wishful thinking. Had a good parkrun myself today shaved anothe 59 seconds off my PB with a quite amazing time of 28.54 which was a surprise asI thought I had reached my limit being 1min30 slower last week than this. Oh well just goes to show I know nothing about running. πŸ˜€

Wow Runsome, awesome time! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I’ve thought of nothing else since my parkrun. Can’t wait to get back out β€˜training’ again! Happy that this 5k was quicker than my first one just over a week ago, even with the hills! I’m ready to tackle them! πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Runsome profile image
RunsomeGraduate in reply to cheekychipmunks

Thanks. I’m glad you improved your 5k time πŸ‘it just shows how far we’ve all come from week1 C25K and now aiming to go that little bit extra each time we run. I think I just need to do some runs just for the hell of it no time and no distance but I’m not sure I’ll get a chance for a few weeks I’m trying to build up to the Rother 10k this month and it’s really hilly. Perhaps after that I Can do that occasionally πŸ˜€

Brilliant Runsome! Presuming you were at Hastings my son was a place behind you in 28:57 - he said he couldn't catch you in the last bit😁

Hi pianoteacher thanks. Wow a few more yards and he would have had me I was dead on my feet, I gave my last ounce in the last 200mtrs. he can get me next timeπŸ˜€

pianoteacher profile image
pianoteacherGraduate in reply to Runsome

I'm not surprised - that's a great time. He PB'd by 3.5 minutes today so I don't think he had much left in the tank either!

We're marshaling next week (by the Azur I think) so you won't have him breathing down your neck πŸ˜‚ give us a wave if you're about x
