W7R1 - That felt better!

Well, after Monday's truly hideous run after the excesses of the weekend, this felt much better.

Legs felt good after about 5 minutes and none of Monday's breathing issues reared their head.

My main problem still is that the night before I'm due to do an early morning run, I am completely and utterly besieged by gremlins through the night. I'm constantly waking up worrying about the run which makes for a rubbish night's sleep. Does this happen to anyone else?

I wake up and stay awake whatever the time, sometimes I sleep until my alarm. I’ve used the headspace app to relax and get me ready to sleep, so at least I go to sleep quickly and I’m as rested as I’m going to be when I wake. I feel pretty good now, even on 4 hours sleep, it’s when I get 8 that I’m lethargic.

Good run.

Unfortunately, I love nothing more than 8 hours sleep :-)

Well done Bonio, that’s better! We all have runs which get us down a bit, but yours is far behind you and you followed it up with a stonker! Brilliant! 👏👏👏👏

Re gremlins Sounds horrible what’s the worst that can happen on a run ?? Love your graphic what app are you using

Ahh, the gremlins tell me in the night that my ankles hurt (they don't), my hip hurts (it doesn't), I'm going to get a groin strain (I suppose I could). They tell me that I won't be able to run for whatever time I'm supposed to be running for and so it goes on, all flipping night!!

The app is the Jabra sports one as I have Jabra headphones so it all links up somehow or other ;-)

So glad you had a better run, can’t relate to the fitful sleep due to the running but then again i’m doing week 1 still. I do have bouts of insomnia though and weirdly the best advise I have been given is to not fight it. I can’t say it cures it but I do seem less stressed by it and after a week or so it goes off.

Perhaps when you’ve done week 9 and are running to your own timetable you’ll feel less pressure.

Hope it improves and well done again on the fun.

The only run that kept me awake was that you know what run of W5R3, I admit I only had 3 hours sleep the night before I ran it, however, once I ran it I was very happy and relieved, that night I slept as they say in the song "like a log".

Brilliant, that's more like it!! Guess there will always be ups and downs on this journey.

If I'm worrying about my run I try to visualise the route I will be taking and the things I will be seeing, basically 'run through' my run. I did that for a new route today but underestimated how far I would get in 25 mins so had to add on a loop or two 😂

Crack on boniobiscuits you are awesome, 5k is in sight, it's just a few days away.

YES!!! Exactly this - a very restless night, and a very grumpy start to the day. But having (very slowly) done my W7R1 suddenly the niggles and twinges have gone and I feel great!
