Not long finished and feeling great if I ignore how much my thighs hurt πŸ˜€ and I seem to have developed a little cough.

Completed with no walking and a 15 hopefully more second sprint at the end πŸ˜€πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ felt good to run fast. Definitely good for the brain 🧠 when you’ve had to slow down to snail 🐌 pace because you feel exhausted and then boom you can run that fast!

I’m going to have to start running earlier now the days are shorter. It was quite dark so probably not safe to be out running on my own but I do love it at night.

Kicking off the last bend to the finish, working it like a pro. Great job.

Thanks first time I’ve tried it and I seriously recommend it, it gives an extra buzz and feels different to the slow jog.

Ugh, I'm feeling this on the other end. I run in the early morning and it's still dark now at the time I started when this all began. A grim reminder of shorter days ahead.

Take it easy if you're getting sick, the end is in sight!

Cough came on after running and it gone again now. Legs are still stiff but a lot of that is from gardening on Thursday, digging and pulling up bricks, slate, stones and weeds 😬

I suppose it depends where you live. I wouldn't run what has so far been my summer route along the seafront and cycle path in the dark, but am happy to go in the other direction along a street of multi-ethinic stores and restaurants until maybe midnight because there are always people about.

I run down the main roads in my area, there are people on the first one but not so many in the second road. I’ve never felt at risk in my area but never been out so often for so long at night. Will see how it goes and how dark it gets as winter draws closer.

Well done, nearly there πŸ˜€.

Obviously you know your own area but running as it gets dark is virtually inevitable over the end/early months of the year. Invest in some hi-viz outerwear which will help you be seen.

Depending where you run arm bands are a minimum but running jacket or hi-viz vest would be a good start and a head or chest torch certainly helps too. (My pref on head torches is to have a band going over your head, not just around it as that helps it to stay in place without being too tight and headache inducing.j

As with all running gear, shop around and it needn’t cost a fortune. I’m sure Lidl and Aldi are due a running gear event sometime soon and their stuff is usually great - some of my fav stuff is theirs, on-line and Decathlon are usually good too.

I tend to run early mornings, some evenings too but always on my own (village, country road, tracks and trails). As long as you stick to usual safety advice you should be ok (as I say though - you know your area).

I do need to invest in some winter running things, will look into some high vis things. I was going to do a post to see what people wear eg long sleeved tops, jackets, what material etc

I’ve ran in the mornings a few times but don’t enjoy it as much. Think I’m just to tired and hungry lol

Because I’m busy over the next week and it is taking longer to recover I won’t be running again till Tuesday. I will be in Liverpool so thinking of doing a run there if my roommate doesn’t mind if she gets disturbed early.
