W3R3 A Struggle!

I found this evenings run a real struggle which was disappointing as the other 2 this week were ok. I pushed through it with the help of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and telling myself I’d already done it twice before so I wasn’t going to darn well not do it tonight! I think my pace was slightly faster as I finished further along the road than previously so will have to keep reminding myself to slow down! 🐌

I’ve just had a sneaky peaky at what’s in store for W4...eek! 😱

Extra speed would explain the difficulty... well done, you got there.

You’re ready for week 4... relax!

It does and I need to keep reminding myself!

Good luck with W3...I’m sure you’re ready for it! :)

You've jumped ahead of me now. I decided not to do my W3R3 this morning as my legs are gone. Totally gone. Yesterday I was given an introduction to kettlebells at the gym and I can barely walk let alone run. 😂😂

I'm hoping 48 hours recovery will be enough and all systems will be go tomorrow morning.

Crikey, kudos to you! Was it really hard?

Hopefully by the morning your legs will have eased up a bit 🤞🏻 and if you keep your pace like 🐌 your run will be ok :)

It wasn't too hard at the time but a few hours later when I got home, muscles were aching where I didn't think I had muscles. LOL.

Kettlebells, I bought a pair of 5 Kilo kettlebells on sudden impulse when I doing my normal shopping at Tesco last year. The combination of them and my normal weekly groceries almost broke the handle of my message bag, absolute dead weight. When I got home I read the instructions on how to use them and I have done various exercises with them on a regular basis. The Russian Swing and various arm curl exercises are my favourites, not sure if those exercises have helped with my runs, maybe, as I did not have to repeat any weeks during my 9 up to graduation.

That’s brilliant! I’m full of admiration for you as it looks like torture to me! 😂😂

Despite my newly discovered aches and pains, I really enjoyed using them. Going to get myself a couple from Argos next week so I can do them at home instead of looking like a dweeb in the gym.

I would imagine that like c25k it’s tough going at times but gets easier at the same time. Go you! 💪🏻

I use the 5 kilo's version, I believe you can get lighter ones and of course much heavier kettlebells, 20 kilos or heavier for those really strongmen, bodybuilders, arm wrestlers etc, I could hardly lift that weight, let alone do exercises with them.
