Well I didn’t think I was gonna be able to run for 8 mins continuously... but I did, twice!

The C25K is brill.

Now preparing for W5R3, 20 mins of running? Mind over matter, watch this space.

Am I the only person who thinks the step up from 8 minutes to 20 is insane?!

if it was really 8 to 20, sure.

It's 16 minutes total running up to 20. There's a bigger jump earlier in the programme. Once you've done Week 5 Run 2, you're ready for run 3. The 20 min run also teaches you that you can settle into a longer run now :) - and your body has learnt all this in just 5 weeks!

But that's with a rest in between! I needed that rest today!

Walking still expends energy... (and it is supposed to be a brisk walk though I'm sure mine weren't!)

Start very slowly and see how you go!

I'm with you, sounds nuts. I've done W5R1 & not even sure about 8 minutes! Still, reassured by all the people on here who have done it. Surely we can too?🤞

Well done - enjoy r3 - you'll be surprised that once you get into it it's ok. It's definitely a mind over matter - your body is up to it and just focus on slow and steady. For me it went a lot quicker than I thought it would. It's such a fab feeling to get it done. Good luck x

I'm doing c25k again having graduated last year and then taking a long break from running.

I can honestly say that wk 5 r3 was the most exhilarating of the entire programme for me mainly because it seems like a bonkers leap and the sense of achievement of running for that long is immense.

i'm starting week 5 on Thursday and can't wait.

Take it really slow, the first 10 mins are usually the hardest so persevere through that and I guarantee you will feel amazing afterwards.

Good luck, believe in yourself and enjoy!!!

Well done you !!! We did the same this morning (my running buddy really doesn’t believe her ability) but we did both. Am so chuffed, I am really buzzing. Bit nervous of friday’s run and I think we can do it but RB thinks we should do two ten mins with a walk inbetween... mmmmm we’ll see lol. A lot of posts say W5r3 is Mental rather than physical so i’m sure we can all do it. Good luck and look forward to seeing you how you get on 😀

Look out, I'm right behind you! Taking inspiration from you & all the great people on this forum. Just completed W5R1 & really don't believe I will be able to run for 8 minutes never mind 20. You give me hope!

W5R3 completed yesterday, won’t say easy but deffo not as hard as I expected, slow the pace and get into a good mindset and you’ll nail it, roll on Week 6 👍🏻
